The game of losing weight can be a slippery slope. We decide we want to lose weight, which stresses us out. The stress then makes losing weight even harder, which stresses us out even more and the story goes on and on.
OK, so what's a girl who's looking to drop a few pounds to do? It could just be a matter of changing the way you're thinking about losing weight. Don't expect that losing weight will solve all your problems, which should help alleviate some stress. Putting too much pressure on losing weight will not help you make it smoothly through the trials and tribulations of losing weight. Every day is a challenge, especially during plateaus. If you've put too much pressure on everything going perfectly then a small plateau, which is a normal bump in the road, may seem like a much larger set-back than it really is. Think of each pound loss as a step closer to your goal, so even just half a pound is a success.
Just keep this in mind - losing weight will not solve all your problems. Losing a few won't change the fact that your ex hurt you tremendously, but it may give you the boost to approach that cute guy you've been eying at the gym. It won't get you that promotion, though it may give you a nice boost of confidence at work. It's the small things, so try and keep focused on reaching your goal, not solving all your problems.

Oh dear, so this is why I'm having trouble losing weight. Better relax a bit.
1Well, Fit I agree with your article except for a couple of things. 1-it will help you get that promotion at work since businesses are starting to look at obesity as a bad reason to even hire someone, let alone move them up in the company and 2-it will olve my problems as people will be nicer to me
2Man..stress totally makes weight loss harder!!
3a really good and healthier way of viewing "weight loss"
4Great post! I am always stressed out, but working full-time and going to school full-time is enough to make anyone stress out....having my 5:45 am runs helps relieve some of that stress!
5Much needed realistic view--weight loss will not solve many, if any of your problems. Healthy behvaiors need to be cntinued regardless of weight. Nice reminder.
6I agree that if you stress too much about losing weight, it will be more of a struggle. Weight loss should not be thought of as a "diet," but rather a change of lifestyle. You are the only one who can impact the way you eat and decide to engage in physical activity. Think positively because weight loss is not an easy task. Stay Positive
7Most people eat when they feel stressed, so the vicious cycle begins. I'm in weight loss mode now, and I've had to approach stress vs. eating because I think that contributed to my weight gain in the first place. I've decided that losing weight won't get rid of the stress, but I'll sure look better managing it!! Ha!
