When you are trying to eat healthy, and especially if you are counting calories, it really helps to pack your own lunch no matter if you are eating at work or school. This however takes some pre-planning and a few extra minutes in the morning, both of which can be hard to come by. Not only is it a great way to save money, bringing your lunch to work ensures that you are eating healthy fare (if you pack healthy fare!) without hidden calories. I bring my lunch most days, but how about you...

I always bring my own lunch and also my own tea. I bought a very cute lunch bag at imorganic http://www.imorganic.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_10&products_id=94 and also I have a very cute pylones isotherm bottle for my tea bought at http://www.pylones.com/famille.php?fid=222
1I need those cute stuff to make my lunch more fun and cute. By the way if anyone knows where I can buy cute bento lunchboxes on the net please tell me!!
I have a cute colorful reusable tote with a great lining that I can just toss in the laundry, so it's nice and green
2Bring my lunch.
I'm interning at a sixth grade center and the cafeteria food isn't
all that healthy/appetizing... lol.
3i bring my lunch.. otherwise i dont eat.. i'm locked in the store over night
4I bring my lunch... it's much cheaper, and sometimes I just can't get away from the office.
5Other-
6I go home each day to make my own lunch and then return to work. I never dine out for lunch, never quite brown bag it, but always eat a homemade meal.
depends what time i get up....
7I pack almost every day - but usually leave one day a week when I can go out and pick up something, just to have a little freedom in variation in lunches
We have some great cafes here with healthy salads, sandwiches, etc, so when I don't pack I
usually go there.
I find it very helpful to pack the night BEFORE work. I have a cute little polka-dot tote that I put in the fridge with all my cold stuff and then lay on the counter the non-refrigerator items and then just throw those in my tote on the way out the door. I find if I don't make my lunch the night before, I end up eating out instead. Not only is packing your own lunch healthy, but it saves money, too!
8i am a real fussy eater so if i made somthing at night i would not want it the next day-i usualy take soup ith me to work-you can spend soooo much money buying lunches every week x
9Last night on the my local news (Twin Cities) they ran a story that with our cost of living over $2000 a year can be saved from bringing your lunch.
10i bring the same salad & egg whites everyyyy day. i never get sick of it
11yumsugar posted a great thread about this and many people replied with some great ideas on how to plan ahead and pack great lunches... here's the link: http://yumsugar.com/574099
12I don't enjoy sandwiches, so I only bring it when I have leftovers from a previous lunch or dinner made at home.
13Ibring my lunch everyday!
Usually this is so I can get some running around done at
lunch.
14Sometimes I go home too though if I have the time because it's not too far of a drive.
i usually eat at home, but if not, i do bring my own lunch
15I rarely eat out at lunch. I save that for dinner once in a while
16I bring half my lunch. I eat a Dannon Light & Fit everyday, which I buy at the cafe, and a Luna Clif Bar, which I bring because they are cheaper at the grocery store than at the lunch cafe.
17I make bento when I have the time to do it or when I need to save. Usually I like eating out for lunch because it keeps me sane being able to get out of my office for an hour or so during the day.
18I bring my lunch most days because we have a gym here in the office so I can go work out to get away from my desk. I try to save a day or two to go out with my boyfriend for a healthy lunch date
19i must admit..i dont bring a lunch too often.. but i dont always buy it either.. if i dont go out for lunch..i go home and make something i work like 5 mins away.. so that helps alot!
20I work from home so I just eat here every day! My boyfriend takes his tho! Saves us money!
21I try to bring my lunch everyday but if I have no energy or time to put something together in the morning I will either go home for lunch or pick something up while running errands on my lunch hour. I prefer to bring something since it is cheaper.
22I bring my own lunch 4 out of 5 times. Or I go grocery shopping on my lunch for stuff for the week...so kinda the same thing
23I bring my lunch 4 out of the 5 days of my work week. I also bring all my snacks for the day that way I am not tempted to run down and buy something. The cafe's here at work have increased there prices again to the point that it is just plain insane. The only thing I do buy is the one soda I drink a day.
24I bring my own lunch and always pack the night before to save time in the morning. I also try and prep as much as I can on Sunday night (i.e. putting tuna in containters and bagging up treats/ veggies) so I can save even more time through the week. Unless there is something going on at work, I bring it.
25we order take out, it's sooo bad of me
26I live 5 minutes from home, so I go home and have something there.
27Yep, it's usually me and the Lean Cuisine. But I do occassionally long to leave the office (if I did, I might never come back!).
28First off, what is Bento?
Second, I pack every day. I just don't always eat what I bring. I got Subway today because my Lean Cuisine didn't sound appetizing at all! If I don't have food in my house to bring I go to the grocery store and pick up stuff for the week during my lunch hour.
29While in theory I like the idea of bringing my lunch, in actuality I don't. Partly because I'm lazy, but for the most part, it's because I need to get OUT OF THE OFFICE and walk around for a little bit. I know I could do that without having any place to go... but it gets boring to wander around aimlessly, then eat at my desk. It's more fun to pick a resteraunt a few blocks away and go out.
I'd probably save big time cash if I could discipline myself...
30I am extremely fortunate to live 4 blocks from work, so I walk home every day for lunch.
31My husband and I both try to bring our lunches...he more than I... I work 3 days a week & will usually bring my lunch at least 2 of those days... He works 6 days a week and always his cooler full of goodies with him. It is a lot easier if you package stuff the night before...I never manage to make the time to do it in the morning...
32i bring it everyday. it's cheaper & i know exactly what i'm eating bc it's usually homemade food & not a lean pocket or lean cuisine. those things smell atrocious.
33you can better control yourself and what you eat,
34when you make your lunch yourself, plus you
probably save a little money.
Workofiction, bento is Japanese for a boxed meal, but usually it looks more interesting than a regular packed lunch (see this Yumsugar page: http://yumsugar.com/637584). I like making it because I hate having to eat in my office. I feel much better about not eating out when I have a pretty and yummy bento waiting for me at lunch.
35I always pack my lunches. It saves me money, I figured about 1300 plus dollars a year, and its much better for me than take away. I only get ½ hour for lunch, and the nearest places to eat are Guthrie’s (fried chicken), Subway, Dominoes Pizza, and a couple of Mexican/Cuban places. I know I could eat healthy at Subway, but the line there is usually very long so I don’t bother. There is a Chinese Buffet but I know myself and I would walk out of there with a Styrofoam container full of egg rolls, general tsos’ and fried rice!
36I usually bring breakfast also, and some snacks. I am addicted to Cup-a-soups to keep my salt craving at a minimum. I am a grazer so its best to bring things I can pick at!
I bring a lunch four days and go out once a week.
