If you were part of New Moon fever this weekend, I’m sure you were transfixed as I was watching the epic battle scene between the Cullen family and the Volturi. The young actors demonstrated dynamic moves coupled with super human strength that were spectacular to watch on the big screen.
Moves like that don’t come easy, Twilight actress Ashley Greene told Us Magazine. Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in the films, said that prepping for the role involved a lot of training — up to four hours a day! In addition to working out with a personal trainer every day, she also had an intense week of fight training with the rest of the New Moon cast. No wonder all the actors look ripped.

Greene was pretty candid in admitting another reason she’s looking so svelte — 12 hour workdays don't "leave too much time to eat." Before dismissing Greene as an actress who starves herself to look good, the star did say that she ate well and stuck to healthy foods during filming. As for her day-to-day off the set she does Pilates six times a week.
"I do it early in the morning. It wakes you up, and it's kind of refreshing," said Greene, who is headed to London in a few months to begin filming the thriller The Apparition. "And that is basically it. Sometimes cardio. I am not a big weight person because when I do weights I build muscle mass."
Matthew Williamson
right. I DO eat, but rarely within a 12 hour time span, and I work out. sounds like a denial to me.
1I hate when women say that weight make them bulky. Also, 12 hour work day on set has a LOT of downtime. I am sure they all take their requisite smoke breaks
2What LaurenG22 said.
Also, doing weights (as women) does NOT bulk up the body. It has the opposite effect. I speak from experience.
3Yeah weights do not bulk you up. You need a little something called testosterone. And a lot of it.
She needs to just sit there and look pretty...No need to open the mouth.
4Some girls can bulk up with weights, not bulk up like a man, but get too muscular (like Jessica Biel or Evangeline Lilly arms) instead of just lean (like Kate Beckinsale), when they use weights.
sheesh...
5Well, weights can bulk you up. I've been an athlete my whole life doing soccer, field hockey, basketball, sprinting, and triple jump. I can tell you that in sports that require lots of quick twitch muscle movement combined with weight training can bulk you up.
6This past year I decided to stop doing sport (my senior year in college) and I can tell you that my body looks a lot more feminine as I have lost my bulk and have leaner muscles from low impact exercise.
Im going to agree with zeze and anon. I have played sports my whole life I can not do weights, if I do my i bulk up quiet quickly. So I have to do only cardio and things like that.
7What's with the paranoia about "bulking up?" Also, what's with the hate for women with muscles? Do you people seriously think being thin and conventionally pretty is more important than actually being FIT? I don't care how "feminine" I look. How well my body WORKS is far, FAR more important than how it looks.
Also, can we PLEASE stop with the Twilight garbage? Do we really need to give so much attention to a series of terrible movies based on badly-written books glorifying abusive relationships? No, we don't.
8Twilight movies are AWFULLL!!!!! omg omg omg so bad. I don't believe a single soul who says that twilight was a genuinely good movie.
9When I said feminine, i didnt mean frail/boney/ celeb skinny. I am very fit, still look athletic, but i just am not a bulky. I can properly fit into my clothes now, I have definition, but my muscles aren't huge. You can still have muscle and be in shape without being bulky, which is what I was saying I am now. When I was an athlete I need some of that bulk to make me more of a competitive athlete..bow since i am no longer competing, I don't need my muscles to remain at that state, and to keep them at that state would require hours me to train like I did as an athlete which was spending about 4 hours a day training and working out.
10So, in short, you can get bulky, but not wanting to be bulky does not mean you do not want to be strong or fit, or that you want to be too skinny and frail.
Anon number 8, your body might be healthy and strong, but your mind could use a little work, try some stress relief exercises...you sound angry.
11haha,
12Zeze you make me laugh.
lol
13I know EXACTLY what Ashley Greene is talking about when it comes to "bulking up"...just look at her legs. They're bigger than the average starlet, even though her legs are toned. Mine are exactly like that. If I work my legs too much, my jeans can barely go up my thighs.
14She was barely in the movie..New Moon that is. And she was fully clothed...not sure what all the working out she is referring to was necessary for.
15She had to work out for the 3rd installment of twilight that they just finished filming.....loads of fight scenes!! That's why all the vampires have been working out at the gym.
16Hardly eating, working out six hours a week... yeah sounds real healthy, Ms. Greene.
17I meant day*
18Sometimes what women think is bulk is actually fat covering your muscle. Bikini models, fitness competitors lift weights and lift kinda heavy and most wouldn't call them "bulky". Do some circuit training, eat right and often and you'll be lean and defined. If you don't, then you build muscle under the fat and you look "bulky". I thought the same thing until I took a good hard look at myself and my nutrition.
19UGG Boots is really one of most great and famous boots brands all over the world nowadays. So many people wear UGG Boots especially ladies in winter for UGGS’ warm and fashion style.
