Back in my experimental college days, I dabbled into the world of dairy alternatives. I tried 'em all and was a huge fan of vanilla soymilk. It was so sweet and light.
These days I still like keeping a bit of soy in my diet though, since we know that it's a great source of protein. I discovered that Wildwood Organics makes an Unsweetened Soymilk - they're the company that makes that Soyogurt I was raving about a week or so ago.
I thought since it had no sugar added, it'd be healthy and taste more like regular milk. I was right (I am not so into super sweet tastes these days either). This is one of the best soymilks I have ever tasted! Even though there are no sugars added, it has a delicious and naturally sweet flavor. Many soymilks can be overly thick or creamy, but the consistency of Wildwood Organics is really light and thin just like cow's milk, but it has no cholesterol or lactose, and practically no saturated fat.

Check that out! It's low in calories and sodium, but high in potassium and protein. Another great thing is that it contains 50% of your RDI of vitamin B12 and 30% calcium. Plus it has a deliciously crisp and fresh flavor.
Whether you are watching your saturated fat or cholesterol intake, are lactose intolerant, or vegan, I definitely recommend looking for this organic and dairy-free soymilk at your local health food store. It's kept cold, so look for it where they keep the yogurt and cheese.

Sounds yum!
1sounds good. I will have to try it.
2I want to try this now, I'm vegan so good soy products are a nice find.
3i just might have to go and try this now.
4cow's milk is thick and creamy.
its when they pasteurize it
and take all the fat out of it when it turns into the kind of milk you're used to drinking.
i like vanilla soy milk, wish my mom would buy more of it.
5I'll have to try that. As of now the only soy milk I'll drink is plain Zen Soy. So creamy & delicious. And I cook with Eden Soy.
6jenniferellen - you're right - I'm used to drinking no fat or lowfat milk. I like my milk thinner, and this soymilk has a similar consistency. That's why I love it so much.
7Wow - That'a a whole lot of protein and lot a lot of calories. I bet this would be great to bake with.
8beaner - is it a lot of calories? it seems pretty low to me, especially for soymilk. doesn't cows milk have about 80 calories per serving?
9i like the thin, no fat soy milk as well so i should look for this stuff! how does it compare to So Good fat free?
10you can also make your own soy milk!
11my family likes to make our own!
and we can choose to add or not add sugar
whenever we like. the only annoying thing
about making your own soy milk, is rubbing
off that thin milky coating off of the seed.
it gets annoying after you've been doing
it for 30 minutes...
soy is really not very good for your body, you're better off getting rice milk
12where do you buy this milk?
