Recently I discovered (thanks to that'sfit) the Culinary Prep, which is a food tumbling contraption that is said to eliminate bacteria up to 99.5% and remove free radicals often associated with cancer from your food. It also reduces total fat levels while decreasing sodium/salt levels.
It honestly reminds me of my treasured rock tumbler from when I was a kid. I can't help but wonder: Does it churn out baby's-bottom smooth cuts of meat? Does it take hours and hours to do? Ordinarily I'd frown at such a contraption, but with all the scary food recalls happing almost every single day, this doesn't seem like such a bad addition to my kitchen after all.

There is something about this that I just don't like. I think it is just preying on the publics fear of food contamination to make a buck (or in this case, $399).

2I think its cool cuz Im allergic to alot of preservatives and additives...it might offer some kind of peace of mind. The price however is really too much.
3It seems messy and is cost prohibitive. Proper handling of food should take care of most harmful bacteria anyway. What is interesting is the reduction in free radicals and nutrition concerns like salt and fat. It seems that this could too easily be undone in the cooking process, though.

5this is not cool, IMO. did you know that all the anti-bacterial stuff we use daikly (antibiotics, antibiotic soap, etc.) makes diseases mutate and become worse? we have super-viruses now, and allergies are getting much worse too.
