Sometimes we just feel tired all the time or just a little low on fuel. There are so many reasons you could be feeling like this (hormonal change, lack in sleep, stress, etc.) and you're not alone.
So instead of turning to a Red Bull or agonizing over the fact that you have no energy, try these tips from RealBuzz.com on giving your energy a boost:
- Ensure you get the right amount of calories per day.
- Ensure your food balance is correct and made up of the right amount of carbohydrates, proteins and essential fats.
- Drink at least two liters of water per day, more if you exercise.
- Eat small meals throughout the day instead of nothing all day then a huge meal at night when you least need the energy before going to bed.
- Ensure you get enough quality sleep every night. Preferably seven hours uninterrupted.
- Take part in at least 30 minutes of activity everyday. It all adds up: walking to the shops instead of driving, taking the stairs instead of the lift or cycling instead of driving, all make a difference.

- Avoid tea and coffee because of the caffeine it causes energy peaks and troughs.
- Avoid cakes, biscuits and chocolate during the day as the high sugar content will cause energy peaks and troughs leaving you feeling wiped out.
- Bread can make a lot of people feel very tired shortly after eating, so try to cut down on sandwiches and see if that makes a difference.
- Eat the recommended five portions of vegetable or fruit per day.
- Try not to rely on alcohol as a means of unwinding of a night. It has very negative effects physically in terms of muscle recovery, weight gain and on sleep patterns. Or, if you can’t give it up, try and have a glass of wine rather than the whole bottle!

SO true! When I skip a workout or two I feel sluggish and lazy.
1Avoid not only tea and coffee, but cutting out that soda helps a ton. It may take a few weeks to not feel so bummed without that good ol' aspartame, but substituting water for Diet Coke makes you feel TONS better.
Also, my personal preference is 8 hours of sleep per night
2Go outside, get some fresh air. That always energizes me.
3Oh wow, I agree with this whole heartily! Whenever I skip a workout, even if its my "off day," I feel very crappy. I have more energy when I start the day off with 30 minutes of cardio
4How do u deal with it when hormonal imbalances/changes r the problem?
5I need to sleep more! *sigh*
6I agree very much with the meal thing. I have always been eating light dinners and preferably before 8pm, but last year because of my schedule I had very little time for lunch and ended eating huge dinners once home in the evening, which really made me tired and sluggish. Now I am back to my habit of godd nice lunch and light dinner and have so much better evenings and nights.
7all these tips are probably right on the ball, but they're so hard to live by! i mean.. i don't know about everyone else, but i couldn't go without my morning and afternoon coffees!
8I am ALWAYS tired but I know exactly why: I am allergic to wheat, dairy, gluten & sugar so I basically cannot eat carbs...ya, no energy here: I do take a lot of supplements and such to try and boost my energy a bit! I am able to go to the gym every day though so they must work in some fashion!
