If you've been having troubles breathing while exercising, but don't have asthma, it's not all in your head.
Turns out that exercise induced bronchospasm, or EIB, is a breathing problem that happens when you exercise or play sports. In fact, many people with no history of asthma suffer from the problem too. So whether you're an elite athlete or a weekend warrior, the symptoms of EIB include coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing or fatigue. If you have any of these symptoms, it's wise to see your doctor to discuss treatment options.

I don't excercise
1I wonder if this is my problem. Even when I feel fit and I am exercising regularly, I still seem to get out of breath and feel overly tired from a "normal" workout. I always seem to have to cough, too. Hmmmm.... Will have to check with my PCP when I next go in to see her.
2I have this, not just from when I work out, sometimes I get it when I'm laughing. It sucks. Anyway, my doc gave me an inhaler that I carry around now. If I know I'm gonna do something strenuos I take one before the workout. It helps a lot!
3I have athsma, and it does SUCK so much when I am working out! Usually, running triggers it the most. I try and stick the a bike or brisk walking, because anytime I try and run I get an attack...guess if I got chased by something I would by screwed
4But definatly, I feel sorry for anyone who feels a loss of breath when they work out...
