My fiance really loves camping, but it's something that I never really did as a kid, or really enjoyed a lot. I'm a really big fan of indoor plumbing...
But I would really like to start incorporating it into our life, because it is something he really enjoys. All of these suggestions are great, esp. the water bottle - that's awesome.
We have registered for a queen mattress (although I have a feeling that cots will be more comfortable) and are getting ready to register for a new tent, a cook top and other essentials.
Any info that anyone could provide for someone like me would be very helpful. He is used to "roughing it" and as much as I'm not really high maintenance, I'm not used to living outside for
any period of time!
Thanks in advance.
I know what I'm getting my little sis for Christmas >) I love camping (as long as I have a tent and cookware) but my sis backpacks for a week at time and I know she needs easy, lightweight
cookware. The water bottle looks great too
ella, i would recommend camping in a tent at a site that offers public restrooms with hot water. it's really not bad. you can hike during the day (or hit up the beach... or any other
attraction in the area), hang out by the fire at night, but if you start feeling yucky - you can take a warm shower and then sleep comfortably in your sleeping bag. i love camping, but i can
appreciate a toilet and shower too. you could also try a place near you just for the weekend. if you hate it, it's only a short amount of time. if you really hate it, you can drive home.
Thanks for the suggestions Vanonymous. Weird how I'm okay with bugs, no electricity, and not having a bed.. but it's the "no running water" that bothers me.. guess I'm spoiled! We'll have to
try it out as soon as the weather gets nicer again! Thanks so much.
