I am just here to remind you that hunger pains, dizziness, lack of energy, and irritability are the body's way of letting us know it's time to refuel. Busy schedules can bump eating to the last item on the to-do list. If you ignore these symptoms chances are that when you can eat, you're beyond starving. This is a recipe for disaster because hunger makes you reach for anything quick (which is usually not the healthiest thing), and you end up devouring way more calories faster than you would if you were just slightly hungry.
No matter how busy you are, you want to eat before getting to that famished point, so you can prevent overeating or feasting on unhealthy foods. Plan ahead and pack healthy meals, or schedule times of the day to eat. Also keep snacks at work, in your purse, in your gym bag, and in your car, so if you're on the road or know it'll be a while till mealtime, you can have a little something in your stomach to tide you over.

I have mixed feelings about this. Generally, I only have appetite for food when I'm hungry. It's hard for me to eat when I have no hunger. That's like telling me to use the restroom when there's no urge. I guess I'm wired differently.
1Yeah when I'm famished all self control goes out the window! I just can't think straight enough to work out something healthy too eat, lol.
2This is my #1 key to portion control... don't wait until I am really hungry to eat.
3I try to do this, especially at work. I'm one to perfer to have little snacks and smaller meals, rather than larger meals when I'm hungry anyway.
4I don't usually get hungry impulsively, but I do have planned snack times so I know that I'll be getting some food at certain times so I'm never really starving.
5There is some merit to this, however I agree with GlowingMoon. I'm not one of those people who can eat 4-5 small meals a day, especially when I don't feel like it or aren't hungry. I just listen to my body and try to discern the times whether it needs a meal or a snack, or if I'm just craving something, and I think more people should do that because we all have our own hunger clocks and meters.
6This is so true, and how a lot of people gain weight who lead busy lives. Eating 4-5 small meals, planned ahead of time has always lead me to lose weight, it's just so hard for me to maintain because I'm always busy.
7whoooo waits until they are famished? that's ridic. i eat 6 small meals a day
