Achieving an orgasm is a hot topic. Women want more, are faking it, and are looking for ways to make it easier and more enjoyable. Can you imagine what it's like to have too many orgasms then, as in 100 to 200 a day? This condition is known as persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD) or persistent sexual arousal syndrome (PSAS) and can leave the affected woman in a state of arousal for hours, days, even weeks at a time. Brought on by environmental changes like cold air, vibrations from music, scents, or even a hug, one symptom of PGAD are spontaneous orgasms — ranging from the mild to a fullout screamfest. And unlike the orgasms shared with our partners, the effects of the condition are rarely associated with any feelings of sexual desire.
The idea of spontaneous orgasms may sound welcoming to some women, but given the invasive nature of PGAD, it's extremely embarrassing and difficult for those who live with it. To shed some light, Grey's Anatomy dramatized the condition on an episode, which you can see here.

I have suffered from this for years. Thank you for posting about this. I've never even seen a doctor because of the humiliation I feel, but I recently found out that I am not alone.
1I've never had anything this intense, but sometimes after I get a Brazilian, I get "aroused" when I'm driving my car. So annoying, but it would be a lot worse if it happened 100 times a day.
2I've almost had orgasms from having to pee really badly...can't say I hate it, actually.
3dressyouup, I would see a doctor. There may be something he or she can do to help you. Doctors see all sorts of "embarrassing" conditions; they won't be judging you. They will know that you did not choose to have this condition.
4this episode actually really offended.
5i sometimes suffer from spontaneous orgasms and they way it looks/feels is nothing like the cheap porno writhing the actress does in this episode!
since orgasms involve contraction of the uterus, something as frequent as the ones caused by PGAD would actually result in repetitve muscular contractions that, after a while, can be quite painful.
and no, i do not writhe an make moans when it happens, just like when i have a bad muscular cramp in my leg or something, i clench my jaw and my fists and hope it goes away soon.
please inform yourselves before making ignorant/witty remarks about this based on a stupid, sensationalistic TV show!!!
This is one of those situations where I could imagine someone telling their friend that they had this disorder and their friend replying with 'lucky you', 'I wish I had PGAD' or something equally ignorant!
6I'm not really sure what it means to be in a constant state of arousal. (I understand the pain from the contractions the comments mentioned) but how can it be irritating to be in a constant state of arousal...in fact how is that possible at all when you are saying this has nothing to do with desire. I mean we are women, so there isn't really a physical effect connected to arousal as opposed to a man, right?
7I used to know a girl who rode on an equestrian team with me and she had problems with having orgasms every time she rode a horse. (I'm not making light of this - I swear). She wanted to go professional but it interfered with her conformation too much.
8this sounds awesome
9zeze- "we are women", "there isn't really a physical effect"?????
10sorry to burst your bubble, girl.
women are just as physically arousable as men.
there has been research done about baby girls having orgasms in their sleep, or making some repetitive movements in their cribs to stimulate their clitoris.
it is also a well known fact that the clitoris and the penis are actually, essentially the same thing but developed differently: they are indistinguishable from each other at a certain stage of pregnancy (in the foetus).
to say that a woman can't be sexually aroused without mental arousal is simply ignorant. the west has repressed female sexuality so long that we now have people like the above poster actually questioning its physiological existance!!
ugh, lets not get dramatic!
I know there are some physical reactions...but enough to interfere with life?
Like I said, I understand how this gets painful for women who have orgasms...but Fit mentioned this doesn't happen to most, most suffer from feeling aroused all the time for no reason. Besides lubrication, what other physiological factors are there that would be so bad as to interfere with daily life?
It is not like a man having to walk around with a hard-on...and all the pain that comes with that.
