Still having problems kicking that nasty little smoking habit?
Well, recent research published in the Addiction journal has found that even just five minutes of moderate exercise, such as walking, significantly reduces the intensity of smokers' nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
While this may seem rather impractical at times, maybe you want to consider it for your smoking breaks at work. So next time you feel the need to take a smoking break, maybe go for a short walk or do exercises at your desk. Not only will you be curbing your cravings to smoke, you'll be burning calories too!

Great tip for smokers.
1I'm trying really hard to quit smoking and exercising has definitely helped me to cut down ALOT. Also, any distraction helps, such as cooking, talking on the phone, etc. The hardest part is being around people who smoke!
2yeah thats the problem for me too... if i go out or around my friends i wanna smoke again i wish there a easier way to quit
3I have quit smoking for 3 weeks now and I have to tell you it has been hard!! But having gum around everytime i want to smoke really helps - there was a study recently that has found that there is really no significant difference in the nicotine gum versus regular gum in the effects it had on people quitting so dont waste your money on the expensive gum just go buy lots of regular gum and keep it handy! It gets easier I swear!
4Also, exercise more than 5 minutes a day because after not smoking you realize how much easier it is to breathe and how much more you can do! I had a cig one night when i was drinking and the next morning I REALLY felt it in my lungs which has also helped me stop because I felt like i couldnt breathe all day! Good Luck to all who are quitting!!! It's hard - but if you need to talk about it I am here!
