By the time Friday night rolls around all I can really do to celebrate the upcoming weekend is say "TGIF," and that is just about it. Going out on the town after a week of working and mothering often just seems too tiring. You know what though, exercising often does not - go figure!
The gym is often not crowded Friday after work, so working out feels like my individual luxury. Plus, if I start the weekend off on the right foot, I can keep my healthy balance for the next two days. If I can't make it to the gym I do a DVD at home. This Friday night workout motivates a Saturday morning. Seriously!
Am I alone here? Does anyone else like to start his or her weekend with a workout? Let me know in the comment section below.

well I wasn't going to work out today but I just came in from my run/bike ride and I feel great! so i'm with you on this one!!
1I love my Friday evening workouts! Besides giving me a terrific, energetic start to the weekend, I find I'm less likely to overindulge for the rest of the evening--so I'm always fresh for Saturday morning yoga!

I usually stay longer on Fridays b/c it will definitely benefit you since you know you're going to have a naughty eating day on the weekend. You just cant deny a good dinner with friends on the weekend. And by the time I get home, the gym is closed, so I resort to some Tae Bo @ home to burn it off. After a nice warm/cold shower, your body just feels so good afterwards!
4I always work out on the weekends coz its the most time I have for myself plus tuesdays wednesdays and fridays are also the time i work out but not as intensely as i can on the weekends

6For the last few weeks I've been working out on Friday evenings. I hadn't thought about it, but it does help me feel better during the weekends. Sometimes I work out Saturday mornings before a date. Either way, it helps me have more energy and confidence.

9I usually work out on Fridays. It's the hardest day of the week (for me) to work out but I do it. It is very quiet too! I love it! I don't have to fight for the arc trainer. LOL!
10i used to, but my half marathon training runs are on saturdays, so i don't work out on fridays unless i have a conflict.
11I love working out on a Friday night; totally relaxed afterward & can really enjoy my Saturday. I prefer going on out dates on Saturday night anyway (instead of Fridays), 'cause I just am not up for "getting pretty" after a full week/day of work. Friday is perfect for a workout!

Working out on Friday sounds like a great idea. I'll have to give that a try next week!

14I love going to the gym on the weekends, period. It's a lot less crowded. No one comes in on Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday mornings. If I go on the weekends, it means that I can have off an evening or two during the week.
15My plan was to go last night after work, but rather inconveniently, the gym's childcare room isn't open Friday evenings. Boo!

My workout is MY workout. I need to do it regardless of the day. =)
17i'm totally with you! any chance i can muster, i try to hit the gym on fri night esp., when i got no other plans. ironically, it's sometimes easier to motivate on fri night after the week is done than during the week!
18we have capoeira class friday nights, so i got used to being active on that day, but what im starting to enjoy best.. and much of the same concept.. is saturday/sunday brunch workouts. the gym is quiet, some good movies start on cable for the elliptical about that time, and when i get out.. it just gets me rolling on errands.
19Actually, the weekend is the ONLY time that I can really work out, because I'm busy all day and get out of work late at night during the week.
20I usually go to yoga class at 6:30pm Friday night, and it's never very crowded. Saturday and Sunday afternoon classes usually have no more than 20 people either. It's awesome, and helps keep my energy up for the Monday morning grind!
21I LOVE my Friday evening pilates class. I feel long and lean afterwards and maybe it's in my head....but if I do go out, I feel good about myself.
22OMG so true. I don't go every Fri but when I do I'm always happy.
23I enjoy going to the gym Friday nights. It gives me an extra energy boost, especially if I'm going out that night
24I always go to the gym on Friday, for the fact that usually no one is there and I can get in a really good workout without waiting, I feel more comfortable using the free weight then too, because there arent any guys there, just standing around
