We all know Kate loves to work out - especially doing a lot of lunges. Kate knows they are a great way to sculpt your legs but do you? Most people shy away from them because lunges can become tedious and, like everything else, your muscles can get used to the motions if you don't add some variation to your lunge every once in a while. 
Here is a fun way to update the lunge:
Lunging in different directions enables you to use new (and more) muscles in your legs. So rather than the typical forward and reverse lunges, imagine you are standing in the middle of a star and lunge forward (and reverse for all the points behind you) to all the points of the star to complete one set. Do 3-4 sets.

13I do those in my living room alot. She looks great, but isn't she on a sidewalk..? Maybe she's showing her friend how she did that just now in her aerobics class...who knows..

19Snowpiece, probably nothing. Doing lunges and squats are hard on the knees so if it hurts your knees you should do another exercise. There are a lot of other things you can do

27Snowpiece, just make sure that your knee is not going past your ankle and over your toes because that just adds even more stress and possible injury. But you probably just need to get used to the movement like Blondesugar said.
I also like putting my back leg up when doing lunges. Either a fence post when outside or on a bench indoors. Ahh, the burn. Lol - I can't wait for Fitsugar!

For those interested in an easy way to sculpt your butt: Squeeze and release your butt frequently during the day. At work, while walking through the grocery store, whenever you can. May sound weird but give it a try- no one can notice you are doing it
