Ever want to know how 120 calories measures up when it comes to everyday foods?

Well, I recently stumbled across these pictures from NHS.uk that are really, really interesting to see. This explains why the person who is eating 120 calories for a snack that is half a candy bar is still hungry, but the person who is eating a big bowl of cherries for the same amount of calories feels satisfied. (Thanks to Diet-Blog for finding these cool pics!)

1This is why I'm CONSTANTLY snacking on fresh fruit. I can eat a lot of it, get filled up, AND satisfy my sweet tooth. It's a win-win-win.

8Yes, great visuals! I tend to head straight for the fruits and veggies when in need of a snack.
Carvinsugar: is that out of boredom or a good appetite? I only ask, because the same thing happens to me when I'm bored. It can be rather annoying sometimes.

This is good thing to know, I'm more a visaul person and think that now, when i will be hungry i'll eat a apple rather a kikat's bar .

I'm not totally positive but I think it's because certain fruits have a lot fo sugar which raises your blodd sugar level and causes you to crave more food.

28that's a whole lot of rice cakes... i also bought whole wheat pitas to make the chicken pileup from yumsugar and wound up finding they're low on calories and will fill you up!

30This is definitely 200 calories. I know for a fact that a medium apple has about 90+ calories...so there's no way that two 3/4 apples have 120 calories. Sorry kids...I would love to think they did too!!!
