With the large amount of diets out there it is hard to decipher what's legitimate and what's not. I've come up with five things to look out for when evaluating your current diet. Your diet is more than likely less than stellar if it:
- Does not promote variety.
- Does not promote healthy eating and exercise.
- Does not allow you to eat solid foods.
- Requires a membership of some sort, which requires more money.
- Promises rapid or unbelievable results.
- *Bonus: Requires that you buy special pills/supplements.

a diet that does not provide all the necessary nutrients the body needs... diets that restrict certain food groups can keep you from getting very important vitamins and minerals!
1I've lost about 50 pounds over the past few years (and I'm still losing). The only thing that works through time (for me, at least) is the classic eat fewer calories and exercise. You almost HAVE TO allow for an indulgence every once in a while!
2i found that weight watchers, although it requires a "membership," really made me focus on a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet.
3I know, its all about lifestyle changes...incorporating veggies and exercise. I have a problem with how much I burn vs. how much I eat. I need some help in this area.
4Writing down what you eat really helps. Sometimes its a hassle, but it prevents you from snacking.
5A diet that restricts an entire necessary food group. For example: Fatkins.
6diet is a sad word because it has the word die in it
