After a long run, my feet can be quite achy. Aside from complaining to my husband a lot, I usually just deal with it. However I recently discovered a fabulous and easy technique for massaging your sore feet, and all you need is a tennis ball.

Here's what you do: While seated, place a tennis ball under the ball of your foot. Roll the ball back and forth under the arch of your foot several times. Use as much or as little pressure as is comfortable for you. I usually do about a minute under each arch.
That's it. I promise it will ease those tired feet. Also, if you know you're going to be walking a lot on your next vacation, throw a tennis ball in your suitcase. Feet ache after a long day at work? Keep a tennis ball in your desk for a mid-day massage. Try it and let me know what you think.

1great tip. I shall try this. I normally slather on some circulagel to ease the heaviness, but I'd prefer some sort of exercise instead!
2hmmmm i will have to try this and see if it really helps.
3Something else that soothes and refreshes tired feet is to take one of your empty Poland Spring (or other brand) water bottles (the single serving ones) and fill it with tap water and put it in the freezer. After it is frozen roll it under your bare feet like the tennis ball. I did this when I had trouble with plantar fasciitis. It works great!
4My SO used a frozen can of soda to completely cure his plantar fasciitis. When my arches are sore after a hike, I use the same can.
5i use a golf ball to do this, and i have plantar fasciitis too. (ToT)
6my tennis coach used to make us do this
7I do this all the time. Of course I have a ton of tennis balls lying around from playing tennis and the worn out ones my jack russell gets. If does make your feet feel new again.
8Good tip cageyme, I'll have to try this
9i put my top 1/2 foot on the wall with heel on floor and lean myself against the wall. it helps cramped feet stretches foot
10Yes, it is very very very (can't emphasize it enough) helpful. I experience all sorts of foot problems (morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis, etc - in different areas of my foot) every once in a while because I do lots of foot-related activities. A tennis ball ALWAYS does the trick. It relieves the pain almost instantly. I have yet to try the golf ball suggestion, that sounds interesting.
