I believe in the occasional frozen treat, but just because a banana split contains a serving of fruit doesn't mean it is good for you. At Dairy Queen, a banana split will cost you 530 calories and Baskin Robbins' version is nearly double that calorie count. Yikes. If you're bananas for frozen treats, I suggest you satisfy your craving with a chocolate-dipped frozen banana. Trader Joe's Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas are only 160 calories per banana. Or you can try the DIY version YumSugar likes. Her recipe for frozen chocolate-covered banana bites would work perfectly fine with whole bananas. I would stick a popsicle stick in the bottom of the banana to make a handle for dipping it in chocolate as well as for eating the treat.

mmmm tasty!! I've been having bananas all week with breakfast, and they're sweet enough for me
1Blend a couple of frozen bananas. They have a really creamy texture and are sweet enough to convince yourself that you're eating ice cream. If you want you can also add some honey or dark chocolate chips. I'm telling you this is pretty amazing for it being a frozen banana.
2I love Raspberry Sorbet. It does have sugar, so it's not 100% healthy, but it's certainly better for you than ice cream and the like. I actually use the recipe off the Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet body wash. (You can all make fun of me if you'd like. I swear, it tastes good, though!)
3It tastes good lil??
I love anything frozen.
4Yes, it's surprisingly good! I told my mom about it and she made it and found it a little tart, so she added (just a little bit) of extra sugar. It's really easy to make, too.
5Here's the recipe, straight from the Philosophy website:
5 c. fresh or frozen raspberries, 2 c. sugar, 1 1/4 c. fresh squeezed orange juice, 1 c. fresh squeezed lemon juice. in large pot, add raspberries, cover with water, boil until raspberries begin to pop. drain and blend. dissolve sugar over berries while they are warm. stir in fresh squeezed juice. pour into deep pan and freeze.
I did it once with store-bought juice and it was still good, but fresh-squeezed, like they suggest, is better.
6Ohhhhhhh I get it. I read it too quickly and thought you were saying the body wash tasted good.
Is it time to get off work yet?
7Oh I was about to ask you for it! Thanks.
8Ah, I see! Their body washes do smell almost good enough to eat sometimes...
9You're welcome!
10Sometimes I'll freeze a nonfat yogurt and put it on a banana in a dish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder on it. It's a lot like a banana split, but a lot lower in calories.
11This looks delicious! Sometimes if I want something cold, I eat some frozen sliced strawberries. If you let them sit out for about 15 minutes, they get a little melty and it tastes like sorbet!
12omg these are all such great dessert ideas but healthy!
13I know way too many people who have chipped a tooth on a frozen banana. No thanks for me!
14i've purchased these from TJ's before. they're OK, but the chocolate coating tastes plasticky and artificial.. and not so much like chocolate. homemade would be 100% tastier!
15umm i love chocolate covered frozen bananas - i have purchased them in the frozen section (sorry I don't recall the brand) and I have purchased the "kits" in the fresh produce section to make my own. i loved when DQ carried them in their frozen treats freezer with the dilly bars. sure would be nice if they brought them back to the menu - a better frozen treat option than a blizzard!
