Wanna know a great way to pump yourself up for working out? Action movies/clips that involve real physical activity. Before going to the gym, I'll sometimes check out rock climbing and parkour videos or listen to music from soundtracks to intense movies.
1I find that if I listen to my favorite dance mix cd on my way home from work, it gets me motivated to do things (run with the dogs, workout, clean) when I first get home rather than parking my butt on the couch for an hour to "unwind".
2Totally agree that music can help w/ motivation. If anyone is looking for a little motivation or some new workout or running music, we recently posted over 7 hrs of music specifically for runners, but can great for workouts too. All songs are have faster beats per minute (bpm) and is an eclectic mix of alternative, rock and some R&B... The Killers, Gorillaz, Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon, Gnarls Barkley, Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Matchbox Twenty, Stones, The Police, etc. All songs are either inspirational, about running, or just fun.
