Nintendo is out to prove that video games and fitness are not mutually exclusive. They recently unveiled the Balance Board, a Wii video game accessory for their soon to be released Wii Fit games. I have to say geeksugar and I are super excited about this new development.
The Balance Board looks somewhat like a scale but it is really a gaming controller. When you stand on the board it senses your motions so you can interact with the video game playing on your TV. The range of games will satisfy fitness enthusiasts of all kinds with Wii Fit games like yoga and soccer, as well as hula hooping and something close to Dance Dance Revolution. It looks like many of the games will activate and work your core.
The balance board will also take measurements of your body and plot your fitness level over time. If you are feeling extra competitive you can compare your progress with other members of your household. Sometimes a little friendly competition is in order.

Soooo coooool! Nintendo is the bestest company around. I want one!
1This is so freaking cool! Makes me really want to invest in a Wii
2I so want one of these now. A video game may have finally become a justifiable investment!
3I love Nintendo...might run out and get a Wii this week. Can't wait!
4wiiddr!
super neat though. tons more stable than a ddr mat and you can do a lot on it. i think workout to a video game is much better than a video. the interactivity is priceless.
5Saw this over on GeekSugar - looks like so much fun!
I'm saving up for a Wii, I think - the games keep getting better and better.
6This looks very cool. I have never seen a balance board but I love love love balance disks.
7Wow, I also really want a Wii game system now. I've heard a lot about the remote, but this blance board just raised the bar with this.
8I totally want this. I already totally love my Wii and if I bought this, I'm not sure I'd ever make it out of the house. I'd just be playing this all day long.
9i havent used my Wii since february because of school but i cannot wait for this!! i will make time for it.
10nintendo is my only favorite gaming system out there. too bad i can't afford their wii system.
11My boyfriend and I have decided to get the WII and a few games for eachother for this coming Christmas because it is interactive. We love to be outside and disc golf, walk or play soccer, but in the winter it's hard because of snow and the cold. This will def. keep us active in the winter.
I am now excited that they are coming out with exercise games. Super Stoked.
12I can't wait for this to come out!
13I have a but there are not many games out there yet that you really need to move in. The best by far is the Wii sports tennis. It is so fun and it gets really difficult. I work up a pretty good sweat and it is fun to play with friends.
14I can't wait for the Wii Fit! There is so much potential for Nintendo to make some really great fitness games over any of the other systems. If you're thinking about getting a Wii, get one! I wouldn't buy any games out right now (Wii Sports comes with the system) I would just be ready to buy Wii fit right when it comes out!
OMG!!! I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!! HOLY !%*@ YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!
15Wanting this hardcore!
16I want this!

19Wii Sports boxing is the greatest thing ever invented. If there's something that's supposedly better than that? YESSSSS.
20Wow!! I recently got a Wii for Christmas and thought the Wii Sports fitness age was encouraging. I am so going to buy this!
