More LARABAR Love

You know what a huge fan I am of LARABARs. I love how they taste, but most importantly, I love that the ingredients are just fruit and nuts.

Another thing I love is that there are so many different flavors to choose from like Cashew Cookie and Chocolate. I recently tried Banana Cookie. Want to take a peek at the nutritional info? Then read more

Serving Size 1 bar
Calories 220
Total Fat 11g
Saturated Fat 1g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 0mg
Potassium 460mg
Carbs 28g
Fiber 5g
Sugar 17g
Protein 6g
Ingredients almonds
dates
unsweetened bananas

They could not have come up with a better name for this bar - it seriously tastes just like a homemade banana cookie. It's the perfect blend of chewiness from the dates and bananas, and a slight crunchiness from the almonds. This could be my new favorite flavor. Did you see there are only three, that's 3 ingredients listed. Which gives me peace of mind that there are no hidden ingredients.

Fit's Tips: I know it may seem like the fat content in this bar is high, but the fat comes from nuts, which are healthy fats your body needs. If you want to see how a LARABAR compares to other energy bars, then check out this post.

I only really liked the Cashew cookie, but I do love bananas, so I might have to try this one. I saw a girl in front of me at the grocery store buying a whole box of the cherry ones.

Citylove--you can go to their website and use the "where to buy" option. Whole foods has a ton there and a nice selection. i think you can also order them online from drugstore.com, but I think the variety is limited.

one of my former bosses is best friends with Lara, and I got to taste these bars a few years back when she was still testing out her family recipe, I have LOVED them ever since!!! they are hard to find sometimes, cause she only manufactures through her own factory (and not hire outside factories like some larger corps.) but you can usually find them at Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and sometimes I even find them at random Wal-Green's in the snack section, not with the other health bars.

I love Larabars! I saw them at Costco and heard a customer say to the sample lady, "that is waaay too much fat!" I don't usually speak up, but I explained about monounsaturated fats as opposed to saturated and polyunsaturated fats. I didn't want someone to dismiss these bars just on that account. How many treats can qualify as "high fiber"? These bars truly are a treat!
