Snacks are important part of dieting. It is true, since if you allow yourself to get too hungry you will often over eat, plus living with hunger pangs is a sure fire way to get a serious case of the crankies. And the having the crankies is a major reason folks break their diets. However, endless snacking is no good either because you start eating more calories than you are burning in a day.
To snack healthy you need to plan ahead so you have a healthy snack on hand. You also need to set a snack time and snack just at your snack time. I know is sounds like kindergarten, but having a schedule can prevent you from over-snacking (which is just like overeating but often goes unnoticed since the eating is spread out over the course of a day).
Plan a morning snack for around 10:30 and an afternoon pick-me-up around 3:00 - this way you will eat a little something in between meals without ruining your appetite.
Don't what to snack on? Here's some suggestions for the next time you have a Snack Attack.

Balmain
Versace
Timberland
This is great advice. Snacking [healthy] can pretty much make or break your "diet".
1sweet laptop in that picture
2This is the one thing I need to fix in my diet, thank you for giving me the motivation to finally plan snacks!
3it's so much easier right now with all the great fruits out for summer! i have grapes & strawberries for my morning snack, then baby carrots & a handful of nuts for my afternoon one.
4I'm such a scheduled eater during the week. Otherwise I'd spend way too much time munching at my desk. I typically have a snack at 10:30 and 3:30; green tea a couple of whole wheat crackers and cheese; small bowl of fruit (this time of year it's all about berries), almonds and raisins, yogurt...that's the usual snack rotation.
5I definitely think planned snacks are beneficial. They break up the monotony of the work day and keep me from getting overly hungry.
6I don't think I'd be able to get through the day without those certain snack times.
7It also stabilizes your blood sugar!
8Wow I have always been such a sucker for having a snack when i feel like it then not being able to stop myself, i never thought of having scheduled times. If its scheduled I'd get into a routine and wouldnt feel such a strong need to snack other times. Reminds me of drink and biscuit time when i was little *smiles* thanks guys!
9This has helped me drop the last 5 I wanted too, a yogurt at 10:00 and a piece of fruit at 3:00. I am not as hungry after my workout and can take my time to prepare a better dinner.
