It appears that Serena van der Woodsen isn't the only one with a carefree attitude. Blake Lively's Gossip Girl character gives off a see-if-I-care air that the actress apparently adopts regarding the food she eats and when.
Blake spills the beans about her lack of willpower when it comes to monitoring her diet in the August issue of UK Glamour and said, "I had to do a scene in a bra and shorts for the first time in two years. On the day of the shoot, I ate a pork burrito, chips, and coke. Afterwards, I thought, 'I probably shouldn't have done that.' But whatever." The slender actress doesn't turn to exercise to work off the food she loves; in fact, she admits, "I have never worked out."
At 21 years old, Blake's metabolism is still working to her advantage, but thankfully she's talking about getting into exercise. She plans on getting a trainer because, she says, working out makes you "feel better." It doesn't seem like Blake needs any help with her self-confidence, but regular exercise is an important part of being a healthy person. Plus, she'll be able to eat those pork burritos for more years to come.

mmm...I think she really needs workouts. And by the way, to loose some weight is a good idea for her.
1I know that it's probably easier to stay slim when you're young but I'm young and it's not THAT easy. I eat extremely well and I kill myself at the gym and I'll never have a body like hers. That is not just youth that's working to her advantage...
2I'm with you, kristints... I think it's inappropriate to publicize how she supposedly eats like that, doesn't exercise, and looks like that. It gives young girls unrealistic ideas of body image and health. I was twig-like up until I turned 17, and at 19 I'm still struggling with finding my perfect weight. I currently eat way healthier than I did when I was, say, 15, and exercise on a regular basis, which I never did before this year, and I still feel like I could stand to lose a few pounds...
3Ahahahahaha! She's 21? She'll soon see the error in her ways!! In a year or two her metabolism is going to turn on her just like it does on everyone else! >:D
4I'm actually kind of glad that I'm not like her in a way. My sister was like that...she could always eat whatever she wanted to in high school and still be skinny without working at it too much. I've always had to work at being thin, but now that my sis is in her mid-20's, she's gained quite a bit of weight and she now actually has to figure out how to get it off.
5Nice to see her setting a positive example. She'd probably just get lipo if she gained weight anyway, to go along with her all-natural nose, chest and hair.
6Well, that's the most depressing thing I've read today.
7she's full of it. i'm glad for her and all, yay, but honestly she reeks of B.S.
8I hate it when people say "oh she's young, her metabolism is working for her - BUT JUST WAIT the weight will catch up with her", because it is just as hard, I believe, to stay at a certain weight when you're young as it is when you're older. I WISH I had that kind of metabolism...
9"mmm...I think she really needs workouts. And by the way, to loose some weight is a good idea for her. "
Wow...she looks great! She shouldn't loose a pound.
10She looks good but she should start exercising for her health and to get in the habit as she gets older. I am naturally slender and when I was teens/early 20's it was fine that I didn't work out and didn't eat well. Now that I'm in my mid 20's I need to work out to keep muscle tone. If I don't I am still thin but flabby...not a good look.
11Lucky her!
12Ew, I have no respect for celebrities who brag about not working out and eating whatever they want. If that's true, she's lucky, but she's surely not healthy. And I agree that it sounds like BS anyway.
13yeah, and what did she eat the day after to balance that out? not a fan of actors who set an unrealistic diet and exercise regime....
14I used to be the same as her - it's hard to find the motivation to work out if you're busy, not in the routine, and aren't trying to lose weight! Now that I'm 25, I eat healthier, and I work out almost daily because I enjoy it. But I still miss the days when I weighed 117 every single day, no mater how much junk food I ate.
15I believe her, if you watch her in any of her shows, she isn't very toned, or THAT skinny, she is normal sized-skinny.
My younger sister is 5ft and weighs 86lbs and eats whateverrrr she wants, her favorite things are greasy fried foods and extra butter on everything. And according to the BMI, she is a 17, underweight.
It's just how some people are.
16Honestly, I don't understand people's responses to this. I'm 21 and my body works a lot like Blake says hers does. I can eat what I want without gaining weight, and my motivation for exercise stems mostly from a desire to "feel good" and the knowledge that my speedy metabolism isn't going to last forever, and I still keep it minimal. The last thing I want to hear is smug comments predicting the decline of my metabolism. I also don't see how it's her responsibility to represent realistic diet and exercise goals. Like everyone else, she's human, if she can eat what she wants and still be happy with her body, so be it, it's her choice. The only reason we have to hear about it is not because she's "bragging" but because magazines go out of their way to ask her. If she had a strict diet regime people would praise her and try to emulate it. (How many times do we have to hear what Jennifer Aniston eats for breakfast?) But because she doesn't have to struggle like many people, she gets criticized - do we expect her to lie just to keep people happy and "set a positive example"?
17I used to be like Blake, able to eat whatever I wanted without gaining a pound. Now I'm 29. When I hit 26, I learned my lesson. It was wrong of me to flaunt the fact that I had a super human metabolism when I was younger. Now, after 5 years at a desk job, I have to watch what I eat, exercise all the time, and watch the scale go up and down like a yo-yo. I don't think I will ever consistently weigh what I did when I was in my early 20's. For some people, it is definitely an age thing, and you will not understand until it happens to you.
18The problem is not Blake's or any other celebrities talking about their workout regimine or lack thereof. The problem is we like to compare ourelves to them and think that if we workout like they do then we will look like them too. Everyone has a different metabolism and reacts to exercise differently. We don't all exercise the same nor do we all look the same and we have to find what works for us as individuals.
19If Blake can eat like that and look the way she does she obviously has a fast metabolism and has good genes, we shouldn't fault her for that. It isn't neccesarily fair that most people would never get away with that but such is life!
It's worth noting that Blake isn't working a desk job all day! Perhaps she has a dynamic lifestyle that provides enough exercise. Anyhow, I doubt she's eating burritos and coke daily.
20She has never worked out? Ever?
21She's lucky that she doesn't really need to watch her diet, because she has an amazing body
However, just because you're young doesn't mean that your metabolism works to your advantage. I'm still 16 and I would love not to exercise and eat whatever I wanted, but I can't. If I did, I'd be overweight. In fact, I put weight on so easily it's untrue.
22I was naturally super skinny all through my teen years and then finally decided I needed some muscle and began working out in my late teens through early twenties. Never felt better and more confident than when I worked out. Once I met my husband and settled down, I stopped working out and 4 years later I am regretting it! You don't stay super skinny forever, the metabolism will slow down! I am now trying to get back to my pre-hubby build and it's tough!
She shoud lstart working out and eating healthy now so it's easier to stay that size as her metabolism slows and she ages (hopefully naturally).
23Blake Lively did a lot of sports in highschool, her favorite being soccer... so maybe she didn't "work out", per say, but more so just had a very active lifestyle. And I have noticed that those who were very active when they were growing up, are slimmer and have higher metabolisms.
24I'm 17 and sometimes I think I wish I had such metabolism. But for most of the time I'm glad I don't because it forces me to eat well and to work out! Otherwise I could eat lots of junk food, yeah, but it would be so unhealthy!
My 1 year younger sister can eat whatever she wants and she's still 2 sizes slimmer than me! But you know what, she's doing no good for her body and I know she'll have to start watching her weight one day. I'm glad I'm already getting used to leading a healthy life style. I'll have it more simple later in my life if I have my work out routine now, in high school!
25Good for you Blue - that is a really healthy and positive outlook on your health and your future! Keep up the good work.
26Very nice site!
