When asked if seeing someone eating made you want to eat, many of you answered yes. I am wondering if you have a similar experience with exercise. When I am in my car and see people jogging, cycling, or carrying their yoga mats, I start to crave exercise. My legs feel like they are itching for motion. What about you . . .

Totally. We were away at a wedding last weekend and as we were driving back along the West Side Highway I found myself envying the people I saw jogging along the Riverside Park path while I was cooped up in the car.
Definitely! It's so motivating to see people out there and moving.
Absolutely
Definitely! (Especially if said person is in really good shape; it makes me want to be in good shape, too!)
Not that I'm in horrible shape, but when I see someone like Melissa from So You Think You Can Dance, I think, "I want to look like her!" Even the short clip of her doing Pilates on Wednesday night's episode made me want to get a Pilates machine.
Absolutely. There was a print ad in a magazine I used to see where the perspective was a woman sitting in her car at a light on her way to work and another woman is running by and the caption says something about wishing that she had gone on her morning run. I do that all of the time when I see people exercising, I wish I could join in!
does seeing someone with a great body make me want to exercise? yes
I got injured recently and had to really scale back my running so now I'm doing low-impact exercise like spin class, but every time I see somebody on the treadmill or running outside, I immediately feel envious. I want to be out there running, too!
Whenever I watch the show "Burn Notice" it makes me want to hit the gym, Gabriel Anwar's lean frame is awesome!
it is definitely motivating to head out on a run or practice some yoga after I see someone working out.
Even if I've already worked out, if I see someone or pass a gym, I really want to work out!
Most of them, yep, even if I've already worked out that day. It happens a lot when I see people running in the evening.
definitely a yes, especially this summer so many people around the city are exercising it makes me motivated to become healthier
Yup, which is why I LOVE watching tris on tv ! so motivating !
Every time I see someone out on a really nice day going for a bike ride or a nice run, it definitely makes me want to be outside with them.
not really, if i've gotten all the exercise i need for the day. if i haven't exercised in a while then yes i do feel a twinge of wishfullness.
Yes, very much so!
I love watching sports while I'm at the gym. Any sport - even skateboarding! It gets me going more than music!
It definitely makes me want to exercise! I especially love it when I see celebrities who are fit working out.... so many celebrities act like they don't exercise and seeing the ones who are committed to exercise (jessica biel, gwen stephani, jennifer anniston) makes me feel like I can do it too. Like looking good isn't all just good genes but hard work too
No, I see myself as a separate, disconnected individual.
However, about the observed
person (especially if he or she is in good form), I do think,"Good for him (or her)."
not at all.
