Olive Oil vs. Butter
One tablespoon of olive oil contains
119 calories. One tablespoon of butter contains
102 calories. Although butter contains more saturated fat and cholesterol, it has fewer calories than olive oil, so if you're trying to drop pounds by consuming fewer calories, butter is the better option.

Olive oil is WAY MORE healthy and the difference in calories is not that big to switch from olive oil to butter...no question...
1Agreed. I cannot follow any advice that lists butter as a better alternative to olive oil. Countless studies and examples show butter as a healthier alternative--- both for your total health, cholesterol and weightloss. The difference of 17 calories is ridiculously minimal compared to the harm it does for your body--- PLUS the carbon footprint is much bigger and it is harder for your body to digest.
2**********OOOPS--- Meant to say "Countless studies and examples show olive oil as a healthier alternative"*******
3Yeah. Not so agreeing with this at all
4I agree with the previous posters. I will gladly sacrifice 17 calories.
5Calories aren't really that important. It's the nutritional value you get for those calories.
You can eat junk that has no nutritional value, but less calories..or something with a few more calories, and loads of nutrition that in the long run makes you healthier.
