Jessica is hard at work on getting in shape for her upcoming role in Major Movie Star. She has joined the 5-Factor the diet / workout plan that is ever so

We have seen her running with 5 Factor creator Harley Pasternak, tall knee socks and all. Pasternak says "We're making Jessica taut and toned without taking away her femininity." It looks like the plan is working she is still curvy but buff as well.

The 5-Factor Diet is a fairly uncomplicated regimen of 3 meals and 2 snacks daily, consisting of: low-fat protein, fiber, healthy carbs and fats, and a sugar-free drink with every meal (yep, that could be a diet soda or my beverage of choice - water). ET Online is reporting that Jessica is having 1300 calorie meals delivered to her home through the 5-Factor website. I was curious as to the cost of the service and after spending considerable time on the website couldn't find any information on that. She is a star so it seems she is getting star treatment.
The 5-Factor Plan is not just about dieting, the workout is an integral part of the plan to take the weight off and keep it off. It is reasonable, combining both strength and cardio in each session of only 25 minutes exercise, 5 days a week. The entire plan seems pretty doable to me, since there is one diet "cheat day" a week and two days off from exercise. I'm sure it helps to have those meals delivered to your door too.

Can you buy a book about this plan? Or what? Sounds really reasonable. I currently follow Body-For-Life, and this sounds similar-- if not a little easier.
1I don't think she has lost 20 pounds....that is A LOT of weight and several dress sizes. I'd say she has lost a good 11-14 pounds though because she is looking noticably better.
2Here is the book you can buy!

3She looks great. I just feel like one day she was thick and then the next she lost 20lbs. They say it's been two months, but I feel like it's been a lot less.
4WOW, I didn't know we were the same height! I thought she was much taller.
520 lbs seems like a lot of weight for her to lose, but she does look great!
6YIKES! 20lbs in one month is not healthy!! I agree with sweet potato... I don't think she's lost that much either. She does look more toned; great pics of her healthy, toned legs!
7Nope I would never want to look like her! She clearly hasn't lost that much and it's a publicity stunt, boo.
8I don't think she lost that much weight. It's not like she was "heavy" or anything to begin with. She has really nice tone now though.
9I am only 5'2".... didn't realize she was only and inch taller then me.
10I doubt she lost 20 lbs... but she does look great.
11This girl has tried basically every diet out there, hasnt she? Remember her Atkins days? That was just before her second album, and in the irresisible video. When she did the dukes of hazzard she was on South beach and on a ridiculous exercise program (two hours on the treadmill on top of doing weights). She was way too skiny at that point, then gained it all again during her divorce.
12I think she looks very nice here actually. Im a fan of the 5-factor book. I bought it when Halle Berry said that's the routine she used to get in shape for catwoman. I didnt know they had a meal delivery service, though.
I'd lose weight if I only ate 1300 calories a day too.
13her legs look great
14She looks great there
15I am 5'2" as well and I can tell you on a frame that size 20 lbs. is a TON! I don't really think she looks like she lost that much weight, mostly toned up. If I lost 20 lbs I would drop 3 -4 sizes and I am only a 4-6 to start with. She is looking much better though!
16I don't know though, I think it's hard to tell how much weight someone has lost because it's so personal. I know that for me 20 pounds is at most only one size, and I'm only 5'2"! I gained 30 pounds in grad school due to bad exercise and eating habits and being totally overcommitted and busy, and I only went up a little more than one size. I think it depends on a lot of factors about how you carry weight, body type, how muscular you are, etc. So I certainly think it's possible she lost 20 pounds.
1720 pounds in a month? I'm on Weight Watchers and they recommend like 8 pounds a month - I'm in the wrong place!
J/K - I do think 20 pounds in a month is too much too fast - wouldn't she be better off just maintaining a healthy weight so she doesn't have to yo-yo for films?
18The camera adds pounds, so 20 lbs is probably accurate. I hope that she slows down because both her and Ashlee seem to increase and lose weight rapidly.
19After I read this post, I walked down to the bookstore and took a look at the 5-factor Fitness book. Wow! I'm really impressed with how level-headed it is. He barely even mentions weight, just mostly setting healthy and sustainable fitness and eating goals.
I hope this works for Jessica, even though 20# loss in a month is excessive. But it seems to have worked well for Halle Berry.
20Celebrities annoy me, I swear it's like they loose weight in a instant. I mean I could swear just a few weeks ago I saw a picture of Jess looking like she had gained a bunch of weight and now she looks amazing. I Guess my butt is headed to the book store tomorrow to pick up another weight loss book to add to my collection.
21Kazagirl - do you ever go to your local library? They often have these books there. I know too well what it's like to have bought way too many diet books, and borrowing them from the library makes you feel less obligated to try a fitness and diet plan that isn't a good fit for you.
22Whats up with her nose in these pics? The one on the right looks like an old picture of Ashlee
23Thanks since I saw her pic I was waitin for this post
24Hmm, sounds like she is eating like we all should. 3 meals, 2 snacks, low sugar...and workout at least 5x a week. This is what I suggest to my clients always, and practice myself. Not sure that the food is that they make, but I guess it is easier to have it done for you, less chance of cheating.
25i would lose lots of weight too if i am a rich celeb with access with star treatment from the diet companies and trainers who cannot wait to work with me
26I've been using 5 Factor for about 3 weeks -- I really like it. It's very sensible, and there's no focus on calorie-counting. Really good recipes too.
Oh, and btw, she is NOT only exercising 25 minutes a day -- that's the MINIMUM he recommends, like, if you can't do a full gym workout, at least do a mini-workout. In the book, he has exercise plans that last up to 90 minutes -- which is probably more like what she's doing.
27im 5'3 and 20 LBS is alot... if i lost that i would look like nicole richie... however she was gettin a little bigger not HUGE but also when you lose weight it goes in your boobs and her boobs are pretty damn big!! so maybe its like 5 lbs each boob n 10 lbs off her body!!
28she does look good tho... b*tch haha jk i love her.. but its good to see she has started to care about herself again.. the things guys can do hey!
Um, wow. 20 pounds? I don't know if I believe that. She's also building muscle and we know muscle weighs more than fat. So yeah, I don't believe 20. I'd believe 10 or maybe 12 at most.

30My fiance is on ZoneChefs. 7 days of delivered meals is $50/day, but if you commit to 30 days of delivered meals it goes down to $40/day. Not cheap, but healthy, actually GOOD food, and it's a no-brainer what you have to eat. He likes it a lot. I am not doing it because I'm not a fan of their frequent use of ricotta and feta cheeses.
I'll check out 5 factor.
31I'm also 5'3" and 125 lb. If I was a movie star I could probably get down to 115 and be lean with muscle. Any less than that would be a little sickly, but maybe she has a smaller frame than me. 20 lb seems ridiculously drastic though.
32I agree nyc girl, I remember when she was 106 lbs for the Dukes of Hazzard and she was too thin then. Plus muscle weighs more than fat, I remember last year I gained 10 lbs of muscle in 2 months.
Does the 5 factor book inlude exercises as well??
33yeah 20 lbs in one month isnt healthy at all, well then again If I really tried I could lose 3-4 lbs a week.
34I would be interested in knowing how much it costs. Must be pretty expensive if they don't tell you on the site.
35she looks H-O-T
36Okay first of all if she lost 20 pounds, we would have another mary kate olsen on the covers of Star and Intouch. She toned up! I saw an article on another website saying that "paparazzi was after her now that she is thin." That just bothered me so much because when was she ever not thin??? Just because someone loses muscle tone doesnt mean she gains 20 pounds! Im sure her size didnt go up and people just look at pictures of her in the dead of winter where she is all bunlded up and not showing off skin. Ughhh society discusts me with weight!
37A reasonable plan?
Say it ain't so! - KT
38deffinatly going to check out the website and maybe try it out b.c jessica looks great.
39US mag with Jess on the cover claims it was actually 20 pounds in two months. That seems more realistic to me. I don't know how you could really lose 20 pounds in only one month without completely starving yourself.
40My chiropractor once put me on a No Stress, No Sugar diet (sort of like Sugar Busters) for 20 days and I lost 20lbs exactly. No refined sugars at all. It was hard as hell, as soon as I was done with the 20 days I went back to sugar and gained the weight back slowly but surely over the next 6 months. But I can honestly tell you I felt 100% better, no migraines, no back pain and my energy level shot through the roof. But I can't live without sugar! LOL!!!
41"*5-Factor Diet Online is just $5 a week, billed quarterly (every 13 weeks). Your credit card will be automatically charged $65 at the time of registration and every 13 weeks thereafter. You may cancel at any time and receive a refund for the unused portion of your subscription, other than the minimum 5-week charge of $25, which is nonrefundable. "
this isnt for having your meals sent to your house, but if you sign up online you can customize your diet to the way you want it- how many meals you eat, how much you want to lose, work out, etc... so from the looks of it it seems great. espically the one day you can cheat- you don't have to give up the foods you love. i would definately do it if i wasn't so broke
42Okay, so after I posted this I bought the book. I tried taking it out of the library but all copies are checked out and there's waiting lists. So far, so good. But I'm a little hungry...and the workouts have been taking me an average of 33-35 minutes (I've been following the adv. exerciser plan, and taking a little shorter rests than he says because I'm in a rush in the morning). US Weekly says Jessica works out for 45 min per day; I can believe it.
43hey, so much is the plan?
44It's $5 a week and they bill you quarterly -- so, right when you sign up they hit you for $65 and charge you $65 every three months after that.
Honestly, most of these "diet plans" follow the same very basic food rules: low fat proteins, whole grains, fiber, "good" carbs. It seems to me that if you just browse through these books at the store you'll get a good sense of what you should be doing. I notice that 5-Factor seems to have the same emphasis on protein shakes that the Abs Diet does. I haven't noticed, though, whether the workouts are geared toward weights as opposed to cardio, like the Abs Diet workouts.
My problem with all of these is that I have a difficult time digesting carbs of any kind (making it hard to eat even whole grain breads, oatmeal, and brown rice) and I'm lactose intolerant (and a lot of these diets focus on shakes made with milk and yogurt). The diet I've always felt best on (and had the most success with) is a South Beach/Atkins type plan geared toward eliminating sugars and starches -- but I'm concerned that I'm not getting enough nutrients. Argh. The good news, though, is that my job finally picked up a health plan that will cover a nutritionist, so I'm looking forward to working on this with her!
45I just read that she worked out for 4 hours yesterday in the gym. I think that THAT, more than any fad diet, is what's causing the weight loss. 4 hours a day? That's nuts.
46Hmmm...I did something similar to this diet after I had my kid, I managed to lose almost all 30 lbs of my post pregnancy weight. It came off a little slow (2 lbs a week) but it stayed off. I ate five meals a day and watched the calories, tried to not go above 1400, and just tried to eat healthier. 5 meals a day enables you not to starve yourself, it was really the easiest way for me to lose weight, and trust me, I'm no dieter!
47She looks healthy and fit. The 5-Factor Diet sounds like my plan. I don't look at it as a diet though, its a way of life for me now. I am a little shorter than her, and actually now only take in about 1100 calories per day. I've lost about 8 pounds and have about 2 to go to be at my goal weight. Love it!

49I would also lose 20 pounds in 1 month if I cut my caloric intake in half, worked out 4 hours a day, and most importantly, had a trainer that made and delivered all my meals--and whipped my butt if I tried anything funny.
Funny, his book says it's like 25 min. of cardio ( http://www.5factordietsecrets.com/ ) however, the report above says she worked out 4 hours--what gives?
