Naomi Campbell has been spotted shooting a commercial for Dunkin' Donuts in which she riffed on her anger-management issues. Naomi Campbell and Dunkin' Donuts- Now that's a match I didn't see coming. This reminds me of that Carl's Junior commercial in which Paris Hilton does a half naked strip tease washes the car. Another match I never would have guessed. So I am curious what you guys think about slim celebs endorsing products that aren't really going to keep us, the real people, slim (or healthy). Do you think a celeb should be able to endorse whatever they want even if they don't eat/buy/believe in the product they are endorsing? Or is it wrong for them to do so? Speak up and tell me what you think in the comments section below.

Celebs should only endorse stuff that they really use or truly believe in, it is part if their credibility!
No never do a thing they dont believe un it
nobody should really be promoting junk food period.
i guess i don't really have a problem with it. i DID have a problem with junk food companies using shrek to promote their products. but adults should be adults and decide for themselves if they want to swayed by the media and pretty faces eating ridiculously fatty items.
so we know if naomi campbell eats donuts or not? maybe she doesn't eat them every day, but it's possible that the few times she does splurge, dunkin' donuts is the first place she goes. i haven't seen the commercial, but i would guess that it's not suggesting that viewers eat there every day, either.
donuts are delicious. i consider myself a 'real' person. i also happen to be slender. and i totally eat donuts every once in a while.
long story short: go for it, naomi!
Anyone should be able to endorse whatever product she wants, but no one should be able to make health claims about a product unless it has been double blind tested by a third party.
I don't believe the m
As far as the Dunkin' Donuts thing, too, after having gone to grad school on the East Coast, I can assure you that every single ad I've seen of theirs (and there have been a lot) is for coffee. Apparently they do 90% of their business in the east on coffee, not donuts or other food, and they do have amazing iced coffee. Rachael Ray had an iced coffee commercial too. So I don't count it that same as the Paris Hilton burger commercials (although having not seen the Naomi Campbell one, I guess there's a chance it's for doughnuts...but I would be willing to bet it's for coffee).
I don't believe anyone should be endorsing any type of junk food.
Eh. Let people endorse what they want to endorse. It's a free country (sort of...) But I for one would not buy anything linked to Naomi Campbell. I just do not like the sister.
I'm sure many celebrities don't actually use the products they endorse, but this is just annoying becasue it's so blatantly obvious that she doesn't eat dunkin doughnuts
i did hear, megagirl, that it is an ad for iced coffee or some sorta iced coffee drink- so that is a good point, it might not even mention a donut! i also think its wrong to say its blatantly obvious she doesn't eat dunkin donuts (if you are basing it on her weight that is, not the fact she seems a little too high class lol) because i am naturally thin but i have a dunkin donut at least once a week- sometimes twice ;)as for celebs endorsing in general- it'd be nice if they actually did endorse products they use (jen aniston and her smartwater for instance) but adults should indeed be smart enough not to gorge themselves on donuts just cause naomi is in the ad!
I would really like to see all celebrity endorsements done away with. For some reason, the product and the celeb lose their credibility (with me, at least), especially with food and hair dye commercials.
Talk about sending mixed signals!
if a less-thin celebrity was chosen to endorse a junk food product but didn't actually eat that food him/herself . . . would this still be an issue?
llendril -- it would still be an issue for me. it doesn't matter how thin the person endorsing the product is or isn't, it matters whether or not they actually even like or use the product they are trying to sell.
Marketing is exactly that...marketing. Companies are trying to get you to purchase their product. I don't think there is a "fair" way to do that. They need to convince you that you "need" what they have to offer. Whether they use sex, celebs, or less than truthful promises, is their obligation. We as consumers need to be smarter than that.
i'm not so sure a model hawking donuts is the right message to send. perhaps if she were endorsing a healthy diet plan, i'd buy into it. with obesity at an all time high, i just think endorsing any kind of junk food is irresponsible.
i am kind who care son this one you know... I doubt celebs use half the junk that they endorse... yeah it's decieving and not faiir but i do have to say if someone fofered me what she is going to get to say i eat dunkin donuts i would do it with a smile even if i got it once a year....
Its completely hypocritical for them to endorse junk food. Not to mention it shows what big sell-outs they are!
I really don't have a problem with it. It's really up to you to believe what you want and decide what foods are best for you. I definitely agree with megln1012 - it would be nice if celebs endorsed products that they actually believe in or use, but adults should be smart enough not to endulge themselves with donuts just because a supermodel is promoting it. I mean, c'mon!
I found a story while browsing dlisted.com that states it's for a frozen drink. Still not healthy, but not donuts.

It depends on the audience. As adults, most can reason, but I do not approve of children viewing these images and endorsements. Some celebrities have a huge impact on children.
I don't think people should endorse anything they don't believe in or partake. But it's just a paycheck for them. Seriously though, would anyone buy a donut just because Naomi is in the ad? We still have minds of our own to decide what we should be eating.
I agree blackjade!
Lmao! Oh this is too funny. OK so I know this story is a year old but I was just "googling" for an old quote of Naomi's where she says she doesn't drink coffee as it has a toxic effect on her skin and this popped up in my results!
So what she's saying is "I don't drink coffee but YOU should!" As soon as I find that quote I'll come back here and post it!
