I'd love to have my own elliptical or treadmill. I'd prefer an elliptical, though, because I can run outside. Second choice would be massages, but at nearly $100 a pop, it wouldn't last as long as a new machine!
Dance classes!
Trainer or Chef- both would be fabulous!
I would take a vacation to Hawaii and take surfing, hula, and scuba diving lessons. It would be good to try new things, and good for mental health!
I lvoe to cook and love comingup with ne healthy treats.... so i am set without thte chef...but someone to motivate my workouts and mandate that i show up is worth every penny.
I would hire a personal trainer who was certified to conduct my workout sessions and put together a weekly meal plan for me. I think it is important to cover both aspects: eating right and working out.
Trainer or Chef!
I'm moving to Chicago in January and gyms there aren't cheap so joining a gym with that money would be great
Massages for sure!
I hate to say this, but if I had $1000 and a chance to have it sucked and tucked.....I would
hehe Pinup, don't feel bad cuz i'd wanna do that too. but i think that's a short term answer and if you don't eat right, all that fat could come right back!
i'd split the money on a personal trainer and an elliptical or bike machine. that way, i could find out good techniques but still be able to work out at home!
Oh...I wish I could all of these things. Personal trainer, classes, my own equipment would be awesome. MaggietheCat had a great idea. I ultimately chose "see a specialist" because I LOVE acupuncture but it's $80/pop out of pocker. Also, it's so ironic this blog just posted becaue I JUST wrote about a therapy saga I'm going through on HuffPo and I would absolutely HAVE to use the moolah for that. If I send in my address, can you send over the money? I'll even include a SASE. Pretty please?
x,
Leslie
I'd need the chef longer than a grand would afford me (same with the trainer) I want to take kickboxing or rock climbing lessons, so that's what I would use it on.
I'd probably invest in a strength training set-up - I've already got a treadmill, but geez, I am having a hard time getting into strength training!
Either that, or I'd blow $1000 on new exercise attire and shoes. I mean, that counts, right?
I would definitely hire a personal chef. 1, I'm a begining to learn how to cook. 2, I don't eat right and that's the main reason why I'm not in shape!
exercise equipment, without a doubt. I don't need a personal trainer or a chef since I already work out and eat healthy all on my own. that said, the equipment would be a way to enrich my workout routine.
Tough decision. Went with lessons to try something new. Think Maggie the Cat's idea is great and would have a tremendously positive affect on one's well being.
advanced yoga and pilates training!
massages are for your health? heck yea then- that'd get me over 6 months of them! either that or i'd put the money towards lasik surgery
I'd do the gym (for the elliptical and treadmills), dance classes (for toning), martial arts (self-defense), spinning and aerobic classes (cardio)... And then use some of the money for good workout clothes and shoes.
I already belong to a gym so I would definitely buy a piece of equipment to keep at home. Most likely a treadmill b/c thats where I push myself the hardest, can hit my highest heart rate and where I see the most results coming from. Having a piece of equipment at home would never allow me to make any excuses for not getting some cardio in, even if it was just 20 mins. And this way my roomate (who can't afford a gym right now) could use it too!
massages... all the way. I'm a very stressed person and a massage a week would make my entire life better I think.
$1000 would buy me at least 15 more sessions with my trainer - and that would be awesome! I love working out with someone that can help me learn new exercises as well as make sure I am doing them correctly!
I totally would buy some sessions with an Alexander Technique teacher or my deep tissue therapy guy (who I can't afford anymore).
personal trainer, i need constant motivation!!!
lipo...
j/k.
I know it sounds bad, but since I'm fairly fit already, have pretty good eating habits, and already own a treadmill, I would love to get a mini tummy tuck. I've got a pouch of loose, saggy skin from two pregnancies that I don't think diet and exercise is ever going to remove.
If 1000 dollars wouldn't cover it, I'd take a fitness vacation. Hike through a forest, something like that.
Trainer or chef -- I think I would lean more towards a chef. No more cooking for me!
I wish you could vote for two...chef and personal trainer is what I would do.
Massages!! And maybe colonics.
OMG! I would go back to dance class twice a week (Jazz and tahitian), take up rock climbing, AND take a few more classes towards my nutritional science masters
Personal trainer!! I eat reasonably (lol) well enough already, and I'd be afraid if I bought the equipment I just wouldn't use it. A trainer would motivate me!
I am pretty healthful eater, so I'd spend the money on a few personal training sessions and use the rest to buy an elliptical machine.
I already go to a gym and am satisfied with the group classes, my own home cooking is good enough, and my husband gives great back massages. So I voted for cosmetic surgery. I'd like to have a laser or microdermabrasion treatment to improve the texture of my skin.
Trainer of course!!
