When you're trying to lose weight, many people work on only eating healthy foods, and they say no to cakes, cookies, greasy foods, and the like. With diet restrictions, it's hard not to think about all the foods that are off-limits, but instead of mourning for cheesecake and cheese fries, focus on the foods you can eat. Take a glass-half-full attitude, and revel in all the luscious fruits, the savory vegetables, the chewy whole grains, and the creamy lowfat yogurt and cheese. Although it's true they're healthy for you, they're also deliciously satisfying. There are so many healthy foods that offer bold flavors and textures — especially with Summer coming — they're bound to satisfy your sweet, salty, or crunchy cravings.

That is so true..I also think about how sick I feel after eating sugary junk foods and how energetic the healthy foods make me feel.
1So true! There are so many foods that are good for you (in moderation of course) that just feel good to eat. Whenever I eat my greek yogurt with berries, flaxseed, and nuts, I think what a treat it is. It's decadent and delicious, and it feels good.
2This is a great way to think of it -- it's the "Crowding Out" Theory. You keep adding in more and more healthy foods and eventually you "CROWD OUT" the unhealthy stuff.
You stop wanting it. This theory is consistently proven. I'm living proof
!
3one treat that I always loved was cottage cheese with salted soy nuts and dried cranberries. Always felt like dessert to me!
4I love this advice. I love trying out new and different fruits and vegetables. I try to get one exotic fruit a week to try it out. Also, I used to think I hated mushrooms (not exactly exotic- haha!), but now I'm obsessed!
5Instead of buying sweets or chips, I spend a bit more on nicer ingredients and extras for healthy meals that feel gourmet.
6After a period of just not eating the junky foods, I found out that I really didn't miss them at all because I was eating such healthy, delicious stuff. Nuts, carrots, fresh broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, etc., taste better to me than fried chicken and Doritos now, but I definitely don't feel deprived or anything.
7wow im glad it works for u all, but there is no nut or berry that can substitute a nice gooey brownie
8i don't like to think I 'can't' eat anything anyway. when I'm in the right mindset I can remind myself that I can eat certain things later. other times though there is more of a sense of urgency!
9This is the advice I tell my sister who has food allergies. Sure, she can't have certain things, but there are so many more things she CAN eat. Accentuate the positive.
