Exercising and eating right go hand-in-hand if you're trying to live a healthy lifestyle, so I must admit that I enjoy shopping for groceries — especially when I can go solo. I love to take my time reading labels, checking out new products, and comparing prices so I get good deals on nutritious foods. For some people though, grocery shopping is an annoying chore so tell me . . .

I'm getting excited just thinking about going to buy fresh fruit today... hahaha. I ran out two days ago and I'm going crazy... I need some plums, they're my new fave!
no i kind of hate it, mostly because it's a drag to find fresh & inexpensive food where i live.
No. I hate it that I have to spend precious time by waiting in line, looking for the one product I need and cannot find, while trying very hard not to get annoyed by loud kids or slow shoppers.
the grocery store near my apartment is, in a word, heaven. I loooove it.
I love it!
I could spend hours shopping in the grocery store. I browse in the bakery and window shop in the freezer section. And I always go early to avoid other shoppers.
I LOVE it! I don't buy a lot of groceries at a time so I can go back to the store several times a week. It's how I relieve stress.
It depends on where I'm shopping and how the crowd is
I love it! I could go to the grocery store every day of my life and be happy!
I enjoy shopping in quiet, alternative stores. We both despise the weekly food shop.
I love it through and through! I especially love browsing through the healthy/natural foods sections. I ooh and ahh at all the cool products and wish I had the money to try them all! I also spend a solid 10 minutes in the produce section, trying to deciding what to get, since I have a tendency to go overboard and risk everything going bad before I can eat it all!
There is this amazing grocery store in Baltimore where the prices are pretty expensive, but they have the nicest people (there is a person who takes your basket and unloads it for you!), best deli, and prettiest produce department. I only go there if I am having a really really really bad day for a wrap sandwich for dinner. While I do love grocery shopping--- I hate hate hate spending money on food! I wish I didn't have such expensive tastes
I love grocery shopping! I like getting my fridge all stocked up for the week with healthy veggies and fruit and yogurts and stuff like that. I also enjoy finding new recipes before going to the store and finding all the ingredients for them so I can go home and cook. I look forward to grocery shopping every single week!!
i love going healthy food shopping!
My #1 biggest hurdle to getting healthy is all the constant grocery shopping! I hate having to go nearly every day! Fruit spoils SO FAST! And as someone who is moving from a bad diet to a healthy one, I've been used to foods packed with preservatives, so shopping once every 1 or 2 weeks was normal. But now it's almost constant! I find it to be a pain. A necessary pain, but still a pain!
I love grocery shopping, yes! I like knowing where I'm getting my stuff from and reading labels and all that good stuff. Sometimes it seems like a chore, but once I get to it - it's usually a very enjoyable experience.
Mariah--How are you storing your fruit? If you store fresh fruit and veggies properly, you should be able to keep them for at least a week. Keep your fruit and veggies in the fridge (except for bananas and tomatoes) and be sure you take them out of the plastic bags (or at least open them up). If you buy berries, don't wash them until right before you eat them or they will get moldy fast. Apples and carrots last forever in the fridge...it's really amazing how much longer an apple lasts if you stick it in the fridge vs. leaving it on the counter.
When I was fatter, part of the reason I never chose fruit as a snack was because my parents always kept apples on the counter and they'd get mushy and gross really fast and who wants to eat a mushy gross apple? Once I started storing them properly, they became a LOT more appetizing.
I LOVE grocery shopping, like seriously, my sister mocks me endlessly because I enjoy it so much.
I love the produce junction near my apartment. CHEAP!CHEAP! CHEAP! I'm talking dollar store cheap! Just found it last weekend and will never go back to chain grocery stores unless it's absolutely necessary!! I love grocery shopping!
Generally, yes. However, I'm not as excited as some posters around here.
Perhaps
it's because I'm not a foodie?
For nearby (grocery) errands, I like to take my bike. I'm more excited about my bike ride than the errand itself.
I love browsing the health food section to see what cool new products they've come up with. Yesterday I saw a small box of soya nuts for £4. I mean... what are soya nuts?! They looked like the beans, but roasted and dried to pebbles...
ugh i hate it. if i go when the deli/meat counter is open, it is crowded; if i go when the store is not crowded, the counters are closed. people lose their brains in grocery stores (how hard is it to not park your cart in the middle of the aisle?!)
MariahGem: I eat very few processed foods and only go grocery shopping twice a month. If you're having serious issues keeping vegetables, buy them frozen. It may not be perfect, but frozen broccoli is better than no broccoli.
I love love love grocery shopping, I just hate spending that much money every week! But, a girl's gotta eat!
I simply cannot stand all the other people around. I hate contending for the shelf I am trying to get to while slow decision makers stand right in front. I can't stand parents that let their kids run around and stand in the way. I like to breeze through the store and I can't, for the life of me, figure out why everyone else walks so darn slow.
I get my groceries delivered every week. I hate going to the store. Therefore, I can food shop online while I am at work. That I like!
If I know exactly what I want then I don't mind it, but if I go with no idea then I loathe it.
My mother conditioned me to hate. Not intentionally of course. I had to spend my Saturday afternoons (about 3 hrs) in the grocery store with her going down every aisle while she went though a stack of coupons until I was about 16. I HATED it! And now I hate going into grocery stores.
