On weekdays, I squeeze my workouts into my busy schedule whenever I can. They're often rushed, and last no more than an hour. So one day a week I like to take my time and do one really long workout. I go for a long-distance bike ride, a half-day hike with the family, attend an all-morning yoga workshop, or take a lengthy jog. Weekends are perfect for long workouts since most people have flexibility in their schedules to sneak away for a couple hours. Plus, I can usually get someone to exercise with me, so it makes the time go by quickly and is much more fun. So this weekend, choose one day to do a long workout. Since the weather is so agreeable this time of year, it's a great habit to get into.

I do a long run every Saturday- I usu do 9 miles but I should do 12miles . . maybe this post will inspire me to do the 12miles tomorrow!
1I'm doing an 80 mile bike ride this Sunday!
2i'm grateful for a 45 minute workout just a few days a week. 1 hours is usually the longest allotment that i'm able to manage on a free day! but it is a good habit to start, unless you have an all over the place schedule and don't sleep nearly enough, like me.
3Poptart, I'm in the same boat as you. 1 hour would be a lot of me because of my schedule durring the weekdays. Weekend I take a 2.5 hour capoeira class on Saturdays.
4Two-day softball tournament, which can be anywhere from four to eight games. Can't wait!
5I do this a lot...I'll go with my husband on a long bike ride along the Wiouwash trail when it's nice, or we'll walk to the grocery store on the other side of town (it takes a good 2 hours of walking) to get a few items. It's fun because we get to talk and get exercise in at the same time.
6Yup-- long bike ride on Sat, long run on Sunday.... there just isn't TIME to get in a 70 mi bike ride or an 18 mi run during the week
7Long run on Saturday - We started at 5:30 am in the morning and go for a 1/2 marathon. After that, we go back to the YMCA for Body Pump. It's a long workout for me every Saturday. The funny thing is some of my friends are not even awake by the time I go back home.
