This is a little misleading, because you can't necessarily PREVENT breast cancer. You can be the picture of health and still develop breast cancer, especially if you have a family history. I'm a medical writer, and we stress that the best course of action is to have a healthy lifestyle, do monthly self-exams, yearly physician exams, and begin yearly mammograms at age 40 or 10 years prior to when a relative was diagnosed with the disease (if your mother was diagnosed at 45, you'd need to start getting mammograms at 35). So you can't really PREVENT breast cancer, but you can live a healthy life and detect it early, which gives you the best chance for survival.
