Many of you enjoy strictly doing yoga or Pilates, but some of you enjoy the benefits of both. They share many similarities, but there are also big differences between them. Take this quiz to see what you know about these two types of movement.

1 of 6Question 1

Chilli Pepper
Empreinte
Alviero Martini
3/6 Wow, I thought i'd do better.. whoops
1Pilates tops my list of favorites.
2I love Pilates, but the instructor at my gym isn't very good so I don't go to her class. It really bums me out because I would really like to mix it up by adding that class.
3How does pilates increase flexibility?
4Just went to Pilates last night. Our instructor was tough but good. She reminded me of my old ballet teachers.
5Agree with michlny, yoga's much better for flexibility in my book. Maybe pilates helps if you are extremely unflexible to start with, but for me, I rarely if ever even use my whole range of motion in pilates.
6Arggghhh ... should have gone with instinct but this is good to know!
7I am one of those "really inflexible" people I guess. Yoga was always really stressful for me because I could never get into the positions no matter how hard I worked. I left crying so many times. Pilates has been a godsend because I find it relaxing and strengthening, and I don't have to contort myself. It also helps with balance.
8The answer for question 5 says I'm wrong - but the explanation says I'm correct. Boo.
9So I don't know much about either, although I practice both at home. Oh well.
10Both
114/6. The correct answer for the ones I got wrong was both so I don't feel like an idiot.
124/6... silly quiz
13All subjective. I teach both and I can easily do a 90 minute pilates and 60 min yoga. It depends on the slotted time you have to teach. Likewise, in all my training, we've always called the incline plank just that in both yoga and pilates.
SO I stand by my answers to those questions.
