Pastel coated candy and egg shaped chocolate are tasty April indulgences, and there's a chance you're still on a sugar high from the holiday weekend. When you head to the store to buy ingredients for this week's healthy meals, resist the urge to pick up bags of discounted candy.
It's easier to justify spending money on junk food when it's half-priced. While that bag of peanut butter filled chocolate goodness costs less than it did just yesterday, it still has the same number of calories. Many of us have a difficult time passing something up when it's a good deal, but don't compromise your healthy eating habits by buying bags of candy to simply have on hand. There's a good chance your hand will be reaching for that candy when you'd normally opt for something else.

Just don't go to the store
1Ah, the lure of half priced jelly beans.
2This is something I am trying SO HARD to impress upon myself. Sometimes free chocolate and cookies (and sometimes even cream cake) manage to float around my office, and I never quite remember that just because it's free, doesn't mean it's free from calories!
I think I'm still carrying my student mentality of 'grab-and-run'...
3well i didnt have any thus far so i think im entitled to some half priced easter candy
4I'm with Starangel.. the jelly beans are the hardest for me.. they are so wonderful.
5I don't buy the Easter chocos for myself. I actually buy them for my best friend, who really loves those egg-shaped O'Henry's. It's my way of bribing her. Hehe.
6I'm not the one that does this; my husband is always guilty of doing this. Every single holiday, he loads up on the on-sale candy at the store the day after. Luckily, he usually gets candy that HE likes and not stuff that I want to eat, so I'm not usually tempted by it.
7aahhhh thats the worst part of working in a drugstore!! 50% + employee discount! im going to try to hold offf, but im not that strong.. lol
8omg pharm_chick good luck with trying to resist that!!! lol i know i wouldnt be able to
9I sometimes buy the discounted chocolate, but I have enough self-control to make it last.
