Lots more I've had from wonderful people. These are the few that come to mind. Great question.
3"No one has ever regretted working out."
My friend says this whenever someone is trying to decide whether or not to go to the gym. It's so true! I sometimes have trouble getting motivated to workout, but afterwards I've never ever thought "I wish I would have sat on the couch instead."
41. Your diet is a bank account.

- If you really really have a craving for something, give in a little bit, or you'll end up eating a lot
- Getting started is the hardest part - you'll feel better as soon as you do

Consistency is key.

11Figure out what's best for you. Anybody else's rules are just personal reccomendations, your body will let you know what IT needs.
121) Don't eat any food that your great grandma wouldn't have recognized
132) Make exercise a part of your day; schedule it in...that way, you have no excuses about it fitting into your day
3) Lift weights
4) Situps won't give you a good midsection; planks RULE!
Never skip breakfast.
14"An apple a day"! Eating apples - and by that I mean carrying one around at all times to play with/toss/keep my hands occupied/eat when I had a craving - helped me quit smoking a few years ago! I still love taking one to work every day. They're a great example of how you can replace bad habits with good ones and gradually make the life you want.
15hippiecowgirl - that is a great quote! I just wrote it down and will tape it to my mirror tonight! Thanks!
16Everything in moderation.
17Never eat a product with more than one ingredient you don't recognize/can't pronounce.
18Exercise and healthy eating should be a lifestyle.
19"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
20Exercise is an investment, not a sacrifice.
load up on the veggies, eat meat as a side dish. cardio is vital.
21I also use Hippiecowgirl's quote for motivation! It works most of the time!
As for healthy eating, I read a quote like this in a magazine once:
"Add 1 fruit or vegetable to every meal and you are instantly more healthy."
22drink water.don't eat after 7 pm.
23Suck your stomach in when you're waiting in line. It tightens your abs and doesn't take up any time.
24Get enough sleep.
Without that, all your other good acts start off with a handicap.
25Don't stress about the food when eating out - at the very least you can always have a salad.
26Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're content (not full). Food = energy. Fiber is awesome.
27Shop the perimeter of the grocery store because that is where the fresh unprocessed foods are!
28Eat a rainbow! - eat foods that are the colors of the rainbow every day.
29Get adequate amount of sleep (7-8 hours a night is possible)
30Drink lots of water
Eat in moderation
Eat more fruits and veggies
Stay active including some sort of exercise, even if it means just walking.
Get regular doctor check-ups
Stay positive
I've often said the same as hippiegirl posted: "No one ever regrets working out." I am hugely regretful the day after I decided I needed to lay on the couch instead of working out. I'd rather not deal with that baggage.
31Yes, no-one ever regrets working out... but KNOW when to stop once you've started!! Ugh, I'm in pain today...
32exercise in the morning.
33learn to run.
avoid refined sugar.
1) Get your exercise out of the way early so you feel that you've accomplished something that day!
2) Everything in moderation
3) Eat slowly so your brain will notice when your belly is fully
4) Crash dieting and restrictive diets rarely work and are difficult to maintain -- Make changes that you can see yourself keeping up for life.
34Don't diet. Learn everything you can about intuitive eating. And drink lots of water!
35Hold yourself accountable. Don't make excuses. Be honest with yourself.
36Treat your run like a dance party. Dance party! Also, if it hurts when you do that, don't do that.
37Find the humor but don't be afraid to cry when you feel it in your heart. Find something you like about everyone you meet. Don't try and change someone else. Know that everyday is a gift. Don't try and "remake" your body, just make it the best it can be. Make an effort to love the people in your life. Take longer to pick your friends than you spend looking for the perfect automobile. You should be first, your family and friends should be second and money should be last.
38Lifting heavier weights, fewer reps, do compound exercises. This doesn't bulk me up at all. It produced far better and faster results than running, swimming, pilates, yoga, or dancing. I still do all that too. Also, I don't need to spend more than 60 to 90 mins at the gym to see great results. I do this first thing in the morning and get it out of the way. It's a level of exercise that is very doable. I eat sensibly and don't deprive myself of anything I want to eat. I just don't overeat. Being deprived is a horrible feeling.
39you have to learn to love and take of yourself before you can love or care for others
and trust your body, if you feel like something is wrong, it probably is
