Losing weight is a personal thing. The decision to start a program to lose a few pounds is one that must be taken seriously as well as be tackled with commitment and sincerity. I've heard some really bad reasons for wanting to lose a few pounds, but here are my top five unhealthy reasons:
- Because celebrities do it.
- Because you want to get back together with your ex-boyfriend.
- Because you've got a big event, two whole days away.
- Because that new diet pill makes it seem so easy.
- Because someone other than a medical professional (friend, parent, teacher, coach etc.) said you should.
And you? What is the worst reason you have decided to lose weight? Share it in the comments section below.

Because I want to have legs like the models in the magazines.
1Because I didn't want to be "just" like everyone else; I wanted to be the skinniest.
2because I wanted people to notice me more--it's stupid.
My boyfriend just ended our three-year relationship, so I haven't been eating much at all and have already lost a few pounds. Luckily, I came into work today and a older guy friend at work left a bag of Fresh Market cookies in my desk drawer for me! Not good for the diet, but good for right now.. ha.
3I just threw away a whole bag of chocolates.
4because my boyfriend lost weight.
5Because I want to be pretty! (which i guess is not that bad of a reason, what is bad is that i equate thin with pretty though.)
6because at 5'7 and 110-115 lbs people always said 'your so healthy' and 'your so thin and pretty'...i wiegh 125-130 now, and i get that alot less, but my metabolism has slowed down after years of working in an office, so eating less is just slowing it down more and making me tired and not really losing weight, so i'm going to have to be more active...i'm finding ways to do that and its way more healthy...
7I used to be about 95 lbs and 5'4
8Now, after a year of working retail I've stopped exercising cause I'm too tired. I also eat out all the time. I weigh like 105 now. Not much, but fat weighs less than muscle. The weight doesn't bother me, it's the fat on my hips that make my body look un-proportioned.
My male co-worker said I have "child-birthing" hips.
I also want to remain a size XS and size 1/2 in jeans.
