Something about the arrival of spring makes me crave fruits and veggies so much more! I'm looking forward to visiting a farmer's market and making a nice fresh salad.

Strawberries for me are a summer fruit. They don't get really sweet until they've had some sun and hot weather! I bought a big carton the other day and they were good, but sour tasting. Of
course, I grew up picking wild ones from the land behind my grandparents, which were the tiny super sweet ones...they must be a different variety than the giant ones I see in the store.

3gotta love the strawberries. sometimes when I drive through the outskirts of watsonville and pajaro I can smell the strawberry fields.
