Of all the kitchen gadgets that help you eat healthy, one of my favorites is the salad spinner. I used to find them silly, but now that I have one, I use it all the time. With a little elbow grease, the whirling colander makes it easy to wash and dry lettuce in large batches.
If you've got a salad spinner, make it a part of your Sunday night ritual. Buy a head of lettuce over the weekend, then wash and dry a big batch on Sunday night. You can just keep the lettuce in the spinner and store it in the fridge. That way, you've got a bunch of prewashed lettuce for weekday lunches and dinners.

love, love, love my salad spinner!
1I wish I had one of these, but I don't. What I do instead is to put my washed salad in a clean, dry dishcloth and make a little sling out of it. Then I grab the corners and swing it around in a circle above my head. It works pretty well, but it gets water drops on the wall.
2I totally wish I had one of these!
3This is exactly what I do. Packing lunches is so much easier this way. Plus, it tastes better than bagged salad and it's way cheaper.
4Too bad I don't have one.
5They sell them @ IKEA for a few dollars. I always hated my mom for having one (I had to spin the lettuce), but now I can't live with out it.
