This astounding fitness phenomenon known as the coregasm is actually pretty common. Women experience them when working their core muscles, whether they're doing crunches, strengthening leg lifts, or backbends in a yoga class (talk about an enlightening experience!). According to sex therapist, Dr. Victoria Zdrok,
"A lot of women require a buildup of tension in their legs before they can achieve the release of orgasm. So, when a woman exercises, the release of endorphins and dopamine, which are necessary for orgasm, combined with the tension in the lower extremities, can cause the clitoral stimulation [that is needed]."
It happens when women tap into the muscles in their deep core, quads, or thighs. They end up automatically squeezing the pelvic muscles which triggers nerve impulses, and voilà — a coregasm is born. One squeeze won't necessarily work, but if you're doing many repetitions, that much stimulation can cause intense pleasure in your nether region. If that doesn't get you to the gym, then I don't know what will!

8I get really close sometimes, especially when I do the hanging leg lifts. It's definitely a nice side effect and it actually helps me have orgasms when I'm having sex because I know exactly what position to get into to stimulate those muscles.
9Ok- now I don't feel like such a freak! I don't know about the rest of you but the orgasms I get from leg lifts are intense (I feel it just as intensly in my lower back and thighs). I don't do it too often at the gym (out of sheer terror that someone might "suspect") but I have it timed... all it takes is 20-25 leg lifts and I'm there:)

14I've come close during dance class. There are certain moves such as hip drops, and lower body lock moves that engage exactly those muscles. Let's just say it makes for good dancing.

The first time it happened I was 13 and nearly fell out of the chair:) My gyno thinks I'm stimulating the elusive g spot by exercising my core. Anyway you have to keep up with the reps until you push past the pain of the workout. Trust me you will get there. Plus you will have great abs.

22This also works for men...Makes for a very intense workout though. Tiring the abs is the secret and it seams that all ab exercises bring me closer. Lot of times i am so exhausted i can't get there. When I do, it is extremely intense. Push ups, rocking hips also seems to help.
