There's a new form of plastic surgery on the market, and it's called SmartLipo. It is considered smart because this new form of liposuction gets rid of unwanted fat with less pain and recovery time. You don't even need to go under general anesthesia, because only the areas the doctor is working on are numbed. A laser goes just beneath the skin and melts the fat with ultrasound. Then the melted fat is sucked out. The procedure is said to cause only minimal damage to the nerves and connective tissue, as compared to traditional liposuction that often causes trauma and bruising. People who undergo SmartLipo can usually go back to work within one to two days. Be warned, though, that you could end up paying between $1,700 to $7,000, depending on the area treated. So after hearing all this . . .

I'm not afraid of plastic surgery. We work hard to keep our bodies looking young and firm, but sometimes science does need to help.
1I am just personally opposed to plastic surgery, but if other people opt for it, then that is their body and their choice. I just prefer the feeling that I've worked hard for my body, I'd rather pay the seven thousand on personal training and gym membership.
2I probably would. I have a few "stubborn" areas and honestly all the deiting and running in the world isn't helping! I am good with lots of my body parts, but there are those "places" where I wish it would jsut melt away!
3this treatment also called vaser started in 1984. it is AMAZING
4"the procedure is said to cause only minimal damage to the nerves and connective tissue"
Ummm. Y'know what? I'll pass. Just like I'll pass on regular lipo. Others can decide for themselves.
5I'd consider it. There are some things that you just can't change no matter how much you diet or exercise, and if it makes you feel self conscious or bad about yourself, I don't see a problem with taking reasonable measures to correct it. I knew a girl in college who was in amazing shape, but she had a Kim Kadashian booty. No amount of miles could have corrected it, and it make it find hard to find clothes and difficult to put together flattering outfits, so she got lipo, and I don't see how it's really that much different from getting your teeth whitened or your hair colored or a tatoo or piercing for that matter.
6I'm with Misskacie. No lipo for me, but if others want to do it, have at it!
7Is it just me or is the girl in the picture one of the last people alive who needs lipo??
8I would consider it for my thighs when I'm older and won't have so much time to exercise and shop for fitting clothes.
9briannaNicole, that is exactly what I was thinking!
10I had a consultation for SmartLipo on my upper arms. It seemed legit to me. I ended up being declined for it because my arms are "big" from muscle not fat. Yay, I guess!
11It's not for me. And the girl in that photo does not need lipo!
12wow that photo, looked at in my office, was totally unexpected.
13It's not for me. and briannanicole I thought the same exact thing!!
14No. Any plastic surgery is not for me.
15Nope, I don't need it.
16Whoa, I'm reading this at work. No more bare bums, please?
17I personally can't see myself doing it, but 'never say never', i guess. I'm a little conflicted about plastic surgery in general: Although I can understand the argument that if someone has one thing that bothers them about themselves, plastic surgery could remedy that, I think that insecurities go deeper than the surface.
18The chick in the picture does NOT need lipo. I guess I could stand to do it, but only after I lost all the weight I needed to.
19Hell no. I eat well and exercise.
20I had a breast reduction last year and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was largely because of physical and medical reasons, but I'm not going to lie - there was a definite element of 'cosmetic' about that plastic surgery. I became well-endowed very quickly in high school and it would never have mattered how much exercise I did - nothing was going to reduce the size of my boobs and lift them back up! (Sorry for potential TMI there!
While I
think a lot of plastic surgery is unnecessary and it definitely shouldn't be performed on people who have issues with body dysmorphia, etc, quite frankly life is too short to be socially and
psychologically crippled by something that can be fixed with surgery. If it's going to make you feel good about yourself and you accept the risks and can pay the fee, why not?
21I'm not a fan of getting surgery done just to remove a little bit of extra fat on your butt. Seriously, if you look like the girl in that picture and you want lipo, you need to be seeing a therapist and not a plastic surgeon.
22WHY IS THIS GIRL TRYING TO LYPO HER ASS? she has a nice ass.. i dont get it
23I'm so far from 'perfect,' but the thought of plastic surgery scared me cr@pless. Sure, sometimes I thought to myself, heck it'd be 'easier' (hey, I'm a mom with them 'battle scars'/extra fat on me tummy
). Maybe when I'm like 80 and can't get my skin
tightened or something. But seriously, I can't go through with it. I got scared looking at people getting breast implants on tv. No matter how 'light' the procedure is, it's still...surgery
to me. So, NO.
24I would.
25I don't think I'd have lipo anyway (although there have been truly hateful moments directed at my inner thighs), but if I were to consider it I would definitely look into this. I don't really have any objections to plastic surgery if it makes you feel better about yourself.
26I would do it in a heartbeat if I had the moolah.
27I have had plastic surgery (breast augmentation) and I can tell you that nothing is more important that doing your research on your doctor. I checked my dr's medical license with the Texas Medical Board. www.tmb.state.tx.us/
You can find out a lot of credible information there.
28maybe.. if one day i totally lost control of my eating habit and it all start to show on my appearance
29in a heartbeat.
30in a few years maybe. Lipo is for spot reduction, the one thing that no amount of diet or exercise can do. Now if you have a lot of weight to lose lipo is definitely not the answer, and in that case I would suggest a gym.
