It's daylight saving time this Sunday, March 8, which means we'll lose an hour that day when we "spring forward." The best way to deal with it is to sleep in on Sunday so you don't disrupt your sleep patterns, then go to bed at your normal bedtime on Sunday night. When you wake up in the morning that Monday, you'll notice it's a lot darker out. So you may want to skip the morning workout and exercise in the evening.
Take advantage of the extra hour of daylight by getting bundled up for a bike ride or jog outside, take the dog for a walk in the park, swim at your gym, or pop in a fitness DVD in your living room. Exercising after you get home from a long day of work is a great way to unwind and relieve stress. Plus it will tucker you out and help you fall asleep faster that night when it's time to hit the hay. My buddy DearSugar has her own ideas of how to make use of the extra hour evening light.

I might start doing this.
1i'm excited for the daylight shift. i have a really hard time waking my muscles up in the morning, and my runs always seem harder than they should. i'm also looking forward to the days getting longer so i can start my bike commuting again in a month or so!
2I am really excited for daylight savings this year. Working out outside with my hubby after work, hiking with yoga buddies after class, and just being able to do yard work close to dinner time. It all sounds awesome.
3I work the second shift this week, so I can't take advantage of the evening daylight. I don't have to wake up until about 8 in the morning on Monday, so it'll be light out when I work out. I'm excited for Daylight Saving Time to begin. I hate it when it gets dark so early in the evening.
4if we spring forward, it means it'll be lighter out in the morning, right? i wake up at 6:30 and it's nearly light....monday it'll be like waking up at 7:30, so it should be even brighter out...or am i totally confused here??
5I think daylight savings is annoying overall, but I will be happy the sun is setting later so I have more of a chance to get out and walk the dog or go for a run before it gets too dark.
6I love working out at night! This is probably the only reason I enjoy daylight savings.
7Yes! I can't wait to start swimming more.
8Gr8tfl girl - had me confused too but if you wake up at 630 and it's just getting light out, by "springing forward" to 730, that's when it'll now be "just getting light out" and 630 will be as dark as 530 was.
9Love the longer days...love the dusk runs!
10I would so much rather have the light for my morning workouts. I am very anti daylight savings time.
11I live in japan, we don' t have daylight saving time.
12If I had the extra hour, I would like to sleep more.
I run at at night year round, so the additional light in spring is always appreciated!
