Fitness Gear I'd Never Buy
Gazelle
Oh Tony Little. Your
Gazelle looks like a fun way to burn calories, but I've been on one that a friend was talked into buying, and it's like a ride. Swinging your legs forward and back is not a workout, and definitely not worth $110.

I'm pretty skeptical about these, but my MIL has one and LOVES it.
1I'm betting inertia does a lot of work here.
2hahahahha - my dad bought one of these, and I just couldn't get the thing to work. It's awkward. But oh Tony - the hair just mezmorizes me.
3My mom bought one of these. I actually used it a few times. It's not the best, but if you actually follow the workout guide instead of just swinging your legs back and forth, you will feel some burn.
4My mum had something similar once...I tried it for a few weeks...the end was no sweating, and aching knees after 40 minutes...so I definitely would invest more money and buy an elliptical
5My mom has one & loves it! She has been an inspiration & has recommended it to several elderly people because it's non-impact. One time she even had her husband go set one up for an elderly lady! There are different tension settings for resistance. You are not "just swinging your legs" & there are different workouts. Make sure you order it direct from the company! The quality is better.

My old roomate had one of these and I got on it and nearly peed with laughter. It was
ridiculous....and it MOVED across the floor!! How scary!!! I can see how it would be okay for people who can't do impact-based activity but for me it gave me a better ab workout from laughing
than anything else!!
