I'm a big fan of yogurt. It's a tasty way to get protein and calcium, especially before or after a workout. Greek yogurt is one of my faves because it's packed with so much more protein than regular yogurt, and the thicker consistency makes it feel more decadent.

Since Greek yogurt is becoming more popular, there are many companies making it now. If you want to know how they compare, read more.

I'm curious, which brand of Greek yogurt do you usually buy?

Bric's
Red Herring
Airness
Love OIKOS cuz it's organic & delicious!
1Loooooove Greek yogurt... anything Greek is amazing.
2Fage is great! I mix it with honey, fruit and wheat germ for breakfast. Or add sour cream, herbs and garlic for a dip. I will use the dip on fish and broil it... so good!
3Here's to wishing I could find 'Fage' in Canada....
4I usually buy Fage because it's everywhere, but I've bought chobani when its on sale. I recently tried oikos, and when I can find it, I buy it.
5I prefer my Dannon
6Fage total is my fav (usually with chopped fruit and sprinkled with muesli). I am going for eating things as natural (and with as little ingredients) as possible. Plus I heard a lot of "skim milk" added in stuff is from powdered skim milk which has oxidized cholesterol which is the kind that negatively affects your body's cholesterol levels. So i think I'll manage a few extra calories if it means its healthier.
7Seriously I'm getting none too happy about the fact all my comments regarding my favorite greek yogurt keep getting flagged.
8I like Fage yogurt.
are any of these greek yogurts organic?
9LOVE Fage and then I add Smuckers sugar free strawberry preserves for a dessert like treat!
I won't turn down Oikos though either. I just wish all of it was cheaper! I have to treat myself to this.
10Fage is the best one. I'll get the Chobani honey one since it's on sale a lot, but it's really not as good and I end up having to strain it. The quality of the one that actually is Greek is a lot better than what's produced here.
11YUMMY ME TOO!!
12I love all types of greek yogurt. I tend to buy the flavored Chiobani yogurts because they are on sale a lot or Trader Joe's greek yogurt because they are organic and budget-friendly.
13I love the Fage 0% and just add honey. I've tried Oikos and Chobani, but I don't like them as much.
14I like The Greek Gods! The plain is good but so is the POM and the honey flavor.
15Yogurt is really good althought it makes me sleepy because of containing of lactic acid
İf you can do, try FOÇA YOGURT's in Foça near İzmir in Turkey where makes best yogurts in Turkey...
16FAGE!!! The REAL Greek yogurt. Others are competitors trying to gain market share in a niche that people are loving.
17I love Fage, but I had a cup of Chobani (I stopped short of the "fruit on the bottom" because usually they are too sweet) and found it really good and creamy and not as tangy as Fage.
18Love my fage!!!
19Interesting post! Thanks for the comparisons.
20Yay! I love Greek yogurt!
I started eating it because I thought I was lactose-intolerant...Yoplait and Dannon were causing me some trouble. I THOUGHT Greek yogurt was different because they didn't use cow's milk; I've read that traditionally either ewe's, sheep's, or goat's milk was used instead.
Well, after having Chobani and Oikos, which are both delicious by the way, I realized I *wasn't* lactose-intolerant - they use cow milk!
But the best Greek yogurt I have had, BY FAR, is from this nice Greek restaurant in town. Made with goat's milk, creamy, heavy, and delicious...with a touch of honey! It's amazing!
21Sorry guys, but I've tried the Fage and Oikos yogurts and honestly did not like the taste or texture at all. I was really disappointed. I went back to my Yoplait fruit flavored ones. Its the only ones I can eat. I guess we all have our favorites and thats why there are so many to choose from out there.
22Fage is the best...Oikos still has that weird Stonyfield Farms consistency. They just haven't nailed it yet.
I also love my Fage with just a touch of agave nectar and wheat germ. It keeps me full all morning. I just wish I could find coupons for it.
23I love fage!
24I like Fage a lot, but I've recently discovered Siggi's (http://skyr.com/ i get it at whole foods ), which is Icelandic, rather than Greek, strained "skyr" yogurt - about as thick as Fage and tastes delicious. 1 container (6oz) of plain is 100 calories, 0 fat, 5mg cholesterol, 70mg sodium, 6g total carbs (4 from sugars) 0 fiber and 17g protein. I put a teaspoon or two of honey in it when I want a sweet treat. The flavored ones vary slightly, nutritionally speaking, but are still in the same range as the Fage Total 0%. I LOVE the Orange&Ginger and the Blueberry flavors. The Pom&Passion and Pear&Mint are also quite tasty.
25I like Fage, but that's pretty expensive. The Trader Joe's plain is cheap, but only OK. The TJ flavored ones are very good though. I don't like the Chobani or Greek Gods in flavored or plain (the GG has thickeners!!!!). My more budget friendly compromise is Voskos (plain nonfat). It is a steal @ Whole Foods about $1.50 for 8 oz. Yup 8! Not 5 or 6! Almost as good as Fage. Way cheaper. So that's my pick. WF recently added the flavors which I haven't tried. But the plain nonfat is great! They also have a whole milk plain.
26I used to buy Fage when it was the only one on the market. Now I'm buying Chobani and I love it. It's just as thick and creamy as Fage but less tart. I haven't tried Oikos yet.
27I am lactose intolirant, can I or can I not use your product?
