Since Winter is in full force, getting fresh produce can not only be tough, but even if you can find it, it's usually pretty pricey. That combined with the bad economy makes frozen veggies a great option. You can use them in soups, pasta dishes, for pizza toppings, or in stir-fries. It is nice to always have some veggies on hand to make sure you're eating your five daily servings of fruits and vegetables. Here's the nutritional breakdown of Cascadian Farm Organic veggies that you can find in the freezer section.

Super sweet corn? I've never heard of such a thing.
1Good breakdown... I don't buy this particular brand of organic frozen veggies, though.
2Unfort Cascadian Farms is some of the more expensive frozen veggies (because it's organic i suppose). We usually buy the 365 brand frozen veggies from Whole Foods bc it's cheaper and you get more servings in the bag.
3I'm not a frozen veggie fan, they always end up soggy on me
4Years ago I researched whether frozen or canned veggies were as good for you as "fresh". And yes my mom was right all along, it was at the point that the main source of the veggies in my diet started to come from frozen veggies. They are just as healthy as fresh and you can prevent spoilage and portion control without the threat of having rotting produce in your fridge.
5Seriously? Counting the calories of VEGETABLES?
6That's taking it a little far.
my mom has been trying to help me out this year since $$ is tight so she's been picking up frozen veggies for me, and i love that you're putting all the stats in one easy to reference chart!
7frozen veggies are the ultimate convenience food if you ask me. i live alone so keeping a ton of produce on hand isn't practical so i always keep my freezer stocked with frozen vegetables.
by the way- the brand doesn't matter so much. all plain frozen peas, corn, etc. will have very similar nutritional facts.
fit, how about a breakdown of different whole grains? i'd love to see the different calorie/fiber/protein breakdown of cooked portions of oats, brown rice, barley, millet, quinoa, etc.
8I love frozen veggies. I keep practically every kind of frozen veggie Trader Joe's carries. It's so convenient, cheap and healthy!
9i'm glad to know frozen veggies still carry so many health benefits... i'm moving out on my own and produce is expensive!!
10Mmmmm frozen veggies. Perfect to throw in the steamer for a quick dinner. The chinese blend sounds yummy. When fresh asparagus gets pricey I switch to the frozen.
11I always keep frozen peas and spinach in my freezer. They're so convenient.
