There are tons of websites out there devoted to helping you lose weight. They give tips on how to avoid cravings, how to eat more veggies, and how to get rid of the jiggle around your middle. They're all about hard work, commitment, sacrifice, and a lot of sweat. They inspire you to live a healthy lifestyle, but here's a website that takes a different approach. It's called This Is Why You're Fat. This food porn website, as YumSugar put it, features detailed photos and descriptions of atrocious food combinations that are fat, calorie, and cholesterol bombs. Foods like deep-fried s'mores on a stick, and bacon-wrapped meatloaf with a layer of mac and cheese in the middle. OK, so maybe there are a bunch of people who are actually excited by these dishes (many of which are deep-fried, smothered in cheese, or involve being wrapped in bacon), but for most of us, I think this website can help curb your appetite.

Readers can submit their own photos, and here are some of my favorites. Does seeing photos like these inspire you to eat healthy or crave foods that are completely the opposite?

It is absolutely gross! It does make you not want to eat.
1Some of those look disgusting (bacon+sweet stuff ??!!) but some look fun to share with friends in a party or something like that. Of course not for everyday lunch but nothing, no matter how healthy, is meant for *everyday* lunch so it's okay.
Once a year, the snack stadium is awesome, and the huge ice-cream, for a birthday celebration is great.
2I like to indulge as much as the next person, but these are disgusting. They definitely serve their purpose: just looking at all that grease made me want to eat a fresh, crisp apple.
3ewww the food looks so disgusting! When food is that fried and greasy you can't even taste any flavors anymore :S (except grease and salt..)
4While I probably wouldn't eat most of these combinations (bacon ice cream...eww)...I don't think that looking at this site would motivate me to stop eating junk food. Actually, it kind of just made me want a cheeseburger (which I have been craving all week) even more than I already did.
5That's naaaasty. Next time I want to pig out I'll look at this blog. This put me right off my dessert!
6Some of the combinations are clearly made as jokes for the website and not intended to eat. Some however, definitely are real, and those are scary.
7I already saw this thanks to Stephan Fry's twitter. Lots of gross food on there. I spent awhile looking at it though just in fascination of the awful combinations. I think I much rather have my usual food (especially the fruits and veggies) though. In fact I think I might want some grapes soon.
8My boyfriend wants me to make him half of these foods.
UM NO.
I laughed so hard at it though. =)
9I saw this on YumSugar and that kind of food does NOT make me want to eat junk. It makes me want a nice, fresh salad...seeing things like that just makes me feel gross. There's a show on the Travel Channel called Man vs. Food where this guy goes to all kinds of restaurants and eats foods like that...5 lb cheeseburgers, 12 lb pizzas, 12 egg omelettes, etc. and he tries to eat these huge, massive portions of food. Just watching him cram all that food into his mouth makes me want to go run a half-marathon or something.
But yeah, some of those things don't even sound appealing...bacon doughnuts? And does anyone know exactly what deep-fried Coca-Cola is? I was really intrigued by the picture of it.
10BARF. i love that site, so glad i found it.
11Eeek. Kinda funny though.
12Eeek. Kinda funny though.
13"Nothing, no matter how healthy, is meant for *everyday* lunch so it's okay."
Calimie, I was wondering what you mean by that? Not in a snarky way!
I'm just
curious why a healthy food can't be an *everyday* lunch? I eat the same thing for lunch most days during the week: a warm chick pea and roasted vegetable salad with a big fruit bowl on the
side. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't - it's packed with nutrients, it's low in fat and sodium, and it tastes great. I agree that things like supersized muffins, refined carbs and fast
food shouldn't be everyday foods, but there are lots of things that you actually SHOULD eat every day.
14UGGGGGGHHHHHHH! I think I want to go hit the treadmill for a few hours, right after I puke. Good incentive for making me "scared straight" back to healthier eating.
15Grilled cheese patty melt with bacon? Sign me up.
16Loved it! Immediately forwarded the website address to 3 people. I have to admit there were a few things that I would like to have just one bite of.
17Why are people obsessed with bacon so much? I find it to be disgusting.
18I've seen this before...got a link from a blog I visit regularly. I certainly hope its a joke...I don't think anyone would eat this stuff for real. The deep fried coke looked interesting though...lol!
19Food porn.
20haha that website is funny. but that kind of food is a turnoff. My mouth waters looking at healthy foods like salmon, shrimp, etc...instead!
21Wow that's disgusting! Makes me want to eat some fresh veggies.
22Shadowcat14 - it's just amazing. Can't really be explained, but I would eat it every day. Mmmm, salty and greasy and crunchy bacon.
23Oh gosh that website made me feel so sick...the worst one was the burger pizza. I wouldn't feed most of that food to a dog.
24hahahahahaha, the The McNuggetini made me laugh like crazy. As nasty as that sounds... I would soooooooo try it. Minus the BBQ sauce. Seriously McNugget's dipped in milkshakes are freaking delicious, you have try it sometime!
25Good Grief!
26i feel bad just by looking at them.. hahahahh
'heart attack sandwich', seriously???!!!
27I wonder if a lot of these foods are made especially to put on that website. I guess I feel skeptical that a lot of people actually eat these foods.... not to mention that there are plenty of overweight people who do not eat these foods and get that negative 'pig' connotation put on them.
28I won't lie...I actually got the Baconnaise that's on the site... However, I got the light kind. It's yummy and def healthier than using bacon on sandwiches!
29Is it wrong that I think that oreo looks delicious?
30This made me want to vomit.
31
32That is just nasty. People are fat because of stuff like that stuff that they are putting on a website.
33when I saw this site for the first time - I truly wanted to heave...it is so terrible that people actually eat thsi stuff.
34The whole deep frying and bacon on everything I don't get. A lot of that stuff just made me crave the normal versions of the food shown. Oddly, I didn't crave any of the sweet stuff, just the pizza, fries, burgers. That stuff is good and okay, but in moderation and with exercise.
35this reminded me of http://www.heartattackgrill.com/
:D eww man
36These pics make me disgusted. Food is to be loved, not over exploited.
37I feel physically ill looking at those pics. Ew! But it did inspire me to make a collage for disgusting junk food and one for healthy "happy" food. Taking out the two pics and comparing them helps me make the right choice!
38I love this site, it's hilarious.. yet so disgusting!!! auughhh
39The aim is to put people off of eating these foods? Who eats these combinations anyway? A brief look made me grab a celery stick! LOL!
