Early in the morning, my dog Bonnie is raring to go. She wakes me up with tons of licks, and paces coyly around the room until I pull my lazy bum out of bed. She can't wait to get outside, not only to "do her business," but to run and jump and chase and play. Every day her boundless energy inspires me to get my body moving, too. She reminds me to stretch and I feel I should do a down dog every time she does. So the next time you see a dog zooming by, catch their buzz and be just as excited to exercise as they are.
If you have a dog that motivates you to get up and go, be sure to check out PetSugar's giveaway to win $250 worth of food, toys, and grooming supplies. Plus, two Kuranda beds will be donated to the animal shelter of your choice. It's a great way to thank your dog for encouraging you to get off the couch and move.

My dog's definitely excited when she hears her leash rattle...she puts her paws down, butt in the air and starts jumping around. It always motivates me because she's 11 years old and still has the energy of a puppy.
1Haha, my little girl does down dogs and up dogs all the time
I think it's hilarious!
My chihuahuas (a boy and the girl mentioned already) lose their minds when it's time to go for a walk, its so much fun to take them out.
2My dogs are always pumped up, and I'll have to start using that as inspiration.
3My horses are exactly the same way. Dakota waits by the gate and stares me down until I give her a work-out.
I had to be amused by this, I'm afraid! Considering that our dog is usually the last in the household to get out of bed. He'll reluctantly drag himself outside for about ten minutes to pee in the morning, then he gets straight back into his bed and sleeps until noon. Maybe my couch potato instincts have rubbed off on him, hee.
4I always am.
5Well, I have a cat. All he motivates me to do is to get on the couch
6My baby gets SOOOOOOOOOO excited when it's time to "run" with the laser light. She literally has some sort of internal clock every single day and once it's been flipped there is nooooo way I am allowed to get out of going to the drawer in the kitchen, pull out the light and ask her if she's "ready to run." She will run following the laser light up and down the hall in our house until her tongue's hanging out to the side of her snout and she's covered in white foam from breathing so hard. And I have said countless times to my husband & daughter "MAN! If only there was something that got ME this excited to work out every day!"
7I know, I always think this! He runs around like crazy...for fun! If I had that energy I would look like Giselle.
8The dog in the picture looks just like my own border collie! She's definitely a handful and could not do without her morning and evening walks. I've definitely gotten more fit since we brought her home!
9I wish I had a dog.
10i borrow my cousin's dog for this very reason!
