I'm not one of those people who has a stomach of steel, and because of my sensitive belly, there are a list of foods I try to eat in moderation because I know they upset my stomach to some degree. Raw garlic, Chinese food, ice cream, spicy foods, and even apples on an empty belly can give my tummy a hard time. What about you? Share the list of foods that don't agree with you in the comment section below. Do you avoid these foods completely, or eat them anyway and deal with the digestive consequences?

uggg cold dairy things.
1like frosty's or ice cream....soooo hard on my tummy!!!
Too many greasy french fries... but who can stop at just a few?
2Garlic. Most people cook with way too much garlic. It's upsetting to the stomach and gives bad breath for days!
3I've come to the conclusion that I can't not eat ice cream at all. Which is fine by me as I was never a really big fan. I gave up milk years ago, my stomach reacts the same to both milk and ice cream. However, cheese doesn't seem to bother it quite as much. I still try to take a lactose pill before eating cheese though, to help out.
Other than that, I feel like everything gives me gas, but especially beans (duh, right?).
4Junk food and spicy food.
5mexican food!
6Super spicy foods, soy sauce, buttered popcorn (like movie theater butter), orange juice (if it isn't low acidity).
I avoid spicy foods. But the rest I eat in small amounts and just make sure I take a Pepcid before hand.
7Any full fat dairy, but especially regular ice cream. I haven't had regular ice cream in probably 6 months. Reduced fat dairy doesn't bother me, but I haven't even had light ice cream since Christmas. My hubby can't eat apples on an empty stomach either, and apple juice really bothers him. Strangely, pretzels can bother me too, haven't figured out that one.
8i used to think that i had a pretty strong stomach but there are times that i have issues w/ cheese or other dairy, and sometimes certain veggies like zucchini bother my stomach as well.
9I'll eat anything so long as it's tasty and just deal with it later. My stomach is still pretty sturdy and I LOVE anything spicy. The hotter the better.
10Dairy products, cold liquids, super spicy foods, and pork.
11ice cream, anything fried, junk food, greasy take out food, buttery heavy foods....it's been amazing to me to watch as my diet changes from typical food to healthier organic options, that when I try and put the "old" foods in how quickly my body rejects them immediately. I tell people that the easiest way to see how much better our bodies feel after switching from good to bad is to try and eat the old foods, see how they feel, and then realize that our bodies do naturally reject the processed foods and crave the natural. Human nature at its best!!
12I have an iron gut, so I don't get tummy troubles. Eggs give me gas though, ha ha ha!
13Sugary foods
14Fennel. I don't know why, but anytime I have anything with fennel in it, I get a seriously upset stomach!
15Ugh, so many things...I've always had a sensitive stomach. I can't eat anything fried or greasy, as I know it will make me throw up shortly after (sorry, TMI). Also, pasta and anything really rich/heavy bothers me sometimes, it sits like a brick in my stomach.
16I dont have a sensitive stomach, but I get headaches with too much sugar!!
17I can't have eggs first thing in the morning so I get super sick and near puke levels. Don't know why, I can eat eggs any other time of the day and be fine (I love eggs!) but I just can't have it first thing in the morning. If I must, then I have to eat some toast before (and during because I also like to mop up soft yolks with toast).
18Fast food in general usually doesn't do my tummy any favors so i try to avoid it as much as possible. Bananas always make me sick for a little bit but I'll eat them anyway sometimes. I also don't react very well to milk so i avoid it. I don't think i'm fully lactose-intolerant, though.
19I don't have much of a tolerance for too much garlic, milk, or fruit (esp. pears and melons).
20I have colitis so I am a super picky eater because of it...anything fried or greasy it off my list, ethnic type food that are really spicy...cooking in some oils too. It's hard because some days I can have something as simple as scrambled eggs, no butter, (ick) and the next it goes right through me. TMI, sorry. Because of such things I am super picky about what I eat and kind of loathe going out to eat, it usually ends bad.
21Tomato soup, or seafood in a tomato-based sauce. Can't handle it...
22It's weird, but ever since I've started eating a very healthy diet, I really can't tolerate any food that has a ton of fat in it, especially really fatty meats and cheeses. Food like that never gave me issues before, but now I really can't handle them.
23Coffee. Tea and other forms of caffeine are fine, oddly enough.
24Anything greasy! And fruit or diet coke on an empty stomach. Bring on the pepto bismol!
25Greasy food, definitely. I prefer to avoid it. I've never been a very big fan of grease anyway. Some foods can make me gag if I eat them in the morning, especially things like bananas.
26I avoid anything spicy. Dairy products did as well, but I've cut those from my diet. My tummy and skin are thanking me!
I never eat greasy junk food or anything, so that's never been an issue for me.
27Anything that dairy is hiding out in! I was at a restaurant last year and got the veggie burger, specifically asking if there was cheese on it and requesting that the bun not be grilled in butter and told the waitress i had a dairy allergy, and when i bit into the burger? There was cheese IN it :/ vegan fail!
28nothing, thank god! i dont know what i would do without my spicy ethnic foods and gelato.
29salads with no carbs, an apple on an empty stomach, raw onions, raw garlic, orange juice, raw vegs, oatmeal, super spicy food, habanero pepper
30i would be so sad if ice cream (or garlic since im italian) hurt my tummy--thank goodness they dont!! i never know what will set my tummy off--always cabbage though! Over the years I stopped liking/eating what hurts my stomach so I can't even think of them!
31Dairy fat! Lots of butter, cream, ice cream... ugh, no good. Heavy carbs can trigger it too.
32I had my gall bladder out a few years ago, and since then if I eat anything heavy/greasy on an empty stomach I have major issues. Spicy foods or too much caffeine seem to do it to me too, but grease is the worst. On the weekends, i have to be careful if we go to breakfast or lunch soon after I wake up - no big omelettes for me!
33Strangely (well at least I think it's strange b/c I've never heard anyone else have issues with it), my stomach has issues with salmon. I don't like fish to begin with, but people always push it on me since it's good for you, especially salmon, and every time I get an upset stomach.
34My stomach definitely isn't as strong as it once was. My mom makes the sausage & cheese dip - which I love - but if I dare eat any I'm sure to be alternating trips to the bathroom and being curled up in a ball all night long. I also love love love stuffed jalapeno pepper (esp. from Jack n'the Box!) but if I eat them alone I'm destined for a stomach ache.
I've never really liked icecream
35Icecream, milkshakes, anything like that with a lot of actual cream makes me sick too. Luckily I'm a skim or soy kinda girl
I don't have a stomach problem, but chocolate gives me migraines that can make me sick
That
ends up effecting my stomach. I haven't had chocolate in a year...I might break soooon
36Kiwis - they make me violently ill.
Red wine, well an wine w/ sulfites in it - again makes me ill and causes allergic reaction
Shellfish and red skinned and fleshed fish (like red snapper and Salmon)- horrible allergic reaction possible death if I have too much and cannot get medical care immediately.
I have no reactions like upset stomach etc from spicy or greasy foods (I just flat out do not eat greasy or fried foods). If I already have a stomach ache and I eat something with a lot of tomato in it I get heartburn on top of the stomach ache because of the acidity of the tomato.
37Black beans. Every time.
38Oddly enough lettuce (makes me have to go which is not good for running) and cheap deli lunch-meat. Otherwise I don't know because I've avoided fatty and greasy foods for ~15yrs so I can't even remember if those things upset my stomach.
39Gah, I *used* to have a stomach of steel [I mean, I survived sucking on batteries and chewing on a Nicotene patch - Jesus!], but now...nope.
Shrimp: I have an intolerance, but I tell people it's an allergy so I don't have to explain what happens too much. My stomach will blow up like I was pregnant and bloat and bubble for 3 hours. It is the WORST.
[Because of this, I won't eat any shellfish or seafood other than fish. I don't want to find out if any other related foods make me feel the way shrimp does].
Very spicy foods [like Chinese, Indian, some Greek]: I get a serious pang waay down in the pit of my stomach every time I eat some diverse food that is spicy...like way in my ovaries or something. Weird. But it HURRTS.
Some others:
40Excess garlic
Whole milk
Rich, homemade ice cream
Foods with a lot of fat
Raw garlic or onions, full fat dairy (ice cream is the worst), apples on an empty stomach, and then random things on random days.
41overcooked steaktips. gross
42greasy food, apples, and raw onions sometimes. which i love!
43I basically can't eat anything. I did not read all of your comments, but I now take L Glutamine, it is an amino acid, and I take two with any meal that includes items that make me sick. When I say sick I mean intense stomach cramps that make me live in the bathroom for about 6 hours. No kidding. Broccolli, green beans, spinach, lettuce, grapes, cucumbers, any dairy product, including butter, beans, salad dressings, apples, every fruit. This hit me during undergrad, and for about 3 years I have not been able to eat any of my favorite foods. My grandfather is a health nut and told me to take that, and it has changed my life. I can now eat anything, ANYTHING without being stuck in horrible pain. I'm not recommending it because I am a therapist, not an MD, just wanted to say that it changed my life.
44It is more of a question of what doesn't upset it. My stomach is almost always on constant turmoil.
45Onion Rings
46Greasy foods are almost always a pain, and sometimes raw fruits & vegetables will give me indigestion. Liquid smoke makes me feel queasy for hours. I'll still have indigestion the next day from smoked meats.
47I think milk is pretty much the only thing that bothers me. I'm not lactose intolerant, but I stopped drinking milk altogether for a few months & when I tried it again afterward it gave me a terrible stomachache. I switched to soy milk, which is great, but I still miss drinking cow's milk with my cookies!
48too spicy food
usually asian, those good ones (because i love them still) .. spicy greasy using the coconut milk
49i'm amazed apples on an empty stomach make you ill too! That and tea on an empty stomach makes me feel yucky. Unfortunately, most other stuff does too. Trying to figure it all about, but I know to avoid processed foods, too much dairy and very fried foods.
