I'll admit that when I need a quick meal, a frozen pizza sure comes in handy. It's easy, the kids love it, and many are made with wholesome ingredients, so they're not as bad for you as ordering a pie from your local pizzeria. If you ever wanted to know how all the frozen pizzas at the health-food store compare then check out this chart organized by brand that I made.

As you can see, for the most part, these pizzas are fairly healthy. They contain a good amount of protein, and the Kashi pizzas are also high in fiber. It's the sodium content you have to watch out for, especially because most people eat half the pizza rather than the suggested one-third serving. I'd aim for choosing the ones that contain 700 mg of sodium or less, and five or less grams of saturated fat. Of course, the ones loaded with veggies are probably your best option.

Very very rarely do I ever eat frozen pizza....
1I love the Amy's Margherita and I usually throw some broccoli on it before I bake it - yum!
2Amy's Margherita is THE best!
3I tried the Kashi pizza one time and did not like it at all.
I actually love California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizzas. I know the thin crust ones are about the same calorie wise. I don't know about fat and sodium and the other things.
4My roomate made some frozen pesto pizza (bought at Target but I forget which brand) and it was awful! I am sure that it was "healthier" than say DiGornio's but it tasted like cardboard with flavorless cheese. The thing had absolutely no taste to it!
5I actually like Lean Cuisine Margarita Pizza because it's a good serving size, about 350 calories with a good amount of protein. A bit more fat than these listed though, and probably not as much fiber.
6I love Amy's Roasted Vegetable (cheeseless!) pizza... Trader Joe's has an identical version for a fraction of the price
7So hard to eat half of one of those pizzas much less 1/3! My favorite is the Amy's Pesto with broccoli and tomato but it's a rare treat. If anything I'll make my own single serving pizza - buying a whole one is too tempting.
8I love Amy's soy cheese pizza! I add garlic, tomato, broccoli, and onion. Yum!
9When I make frozen pizza, I buy one and then load it up with all the different types of veggies I have in the fridge. It starts lame and regular and ends up just fantastic, my husband even loves a loaded veggie pizza.
10I love Southbeach Diet's Grilled Chicken and Vegetable Pizza. It has a whole-grain crust, and I cook it in the oven until it's crisp- it's yummy and the WHOLE pizza is right in line w/ the others listed here nutritionally.
11I'm not a big frozen pizza fan, so I'll probably skip these. My husband really likes his frozen pepperoni pizza, but maybe I can get him to try one of these healthier ones.
12The sodium level of these pizza are so high. I never knew this. I'm so happy I make my own pizza at home.
13The Kashi ones are my favorite! I love everything they make.
14Dana18, most frozen entrees and pizzas have a large amount of sodium...that's why I try to not eat them too often.
15the cheeseless amy's pizza is divine
16I liked the Kashi ones, I topped mine with extra veggies and some pastured pork sausage. Yummy on top of yummy.
Obviously a lot of us on the boards would make pizza ourselves, but sometimes its nice to have a healthier option for back up.
17I love Amy's cheese pizza!
18i love amy's roasted vegetable pizza. it was such a staple in my fridge during college. yum.
19wolfgang puck's bbq chicken pizza is soooo yummy. haven't tried the rest of them, but i seem to enjoy kashi products so i'll have to pick some up.
