Since it's cold and flu season, we're all trying hard not to get sick. One of the best ways to prevent catching a virus is to wash your hands often, because the germs on your hands
make their way into your body through your eyes, nose, or mouth, giving you the cold or the flu. We all know that it's impossible to keep your hands perfectly germ-free all day long, so as an extra measure, keep your hands away from your face.
This is especially important in public places, such as a bus, an office, or your gym, where you come into contact with items other people have touched. To reduce your chances of getting sick, avoid holding your head with your hand while staring at your computer screen, and refrain from applying lip balm with your finger. Use floss instead of your fingernail to remove food from your teeth, and remember not to rub your eyes. If you need to touch your face, wash your hands thoroughly first.

I actually stopped touching my face for another reason, because my mom told me when I was younger that it would make my skin worse (I had bad breakouts), but it's worked well enough to keep me from doing it.
1I'm with you, I rarely really touch my face but more for germs and such and my skin not so much as far as getting sick...
2Funny, I was touching my face when I first saw this post, ha! AND, I'm getting sick. Oh boy!
3I am terrible at not touching my face! Idk why cause I have such sensitive skin and have always been told not to cause it will make it worse but its like a compulsive behavior...blah.
4I try to stay up on it especially when I'm out and touching diffrent things.
5Touching my face is a habit I have been working on breaking for a while. I was on a serious germaphobe campaign (without antibacterial crap) last year and have made great progress since then.
6I try not to touch my face whenever possible. At work, it's not that hard because I wear gloves all the time and I don't even feel tempted to touch my face with them on. Like tlsgirl, I didn't stop touching my face to stop from getting sick, I stopped because I used to have really bad skin and transferring the bacteria from my hands to my face was making me break out really bad.
7Ya know, I didn't know about the touching face thing either until my pre-school started a new program called Germy Wormy. It was great for my daughter and I learned new things as well.
Agree though - it is hard to stop the face touching habit. My daughter catches me at it all the time.
8Since the beginning of summer I've been sweating a lot more, and therefore been touching my face a lot more too. and I'm finding several new pimples every single morning.
9it's driving me crazy.
I don't know if it's the touching my face which I'm doing or the sweating thats causing my break outs.
