A recent report on CNNMoney has found conflicting reports because the media claims that we (as consumers) are looking for healthier fare in restaurants, but the restaurants claim we are actually consuming the big, juicy burger. Hum...
I figured why not ask you guys, and be honest! Even though you say you're trying to eat healthier, do you just end up ordering a big burger anyway?

Ads like this gross me out. I haven't eaten fast food for at least 5 years. It's like the furthest thing from real food!
1::pukes:: just looking at that...ick
2I'm not a fair voter since I dont eat burgers to begin with
3It depends on my mood. A lot of times when I go out to eat at places where they serve the big burgers, I'm going with the intent of cheating. But, if I'm going out to lunch during the week with co-workers, I order the healthier fare.
4honestly, if i'm going to go out to eat at a fast food restaurant, i'm going to splurge and get a burger. if I want healthy fare, i'll make it myself the way i like it.
5I voted healthier fare. But, I must be honest. When i am out to lunch with coworkers, I always choose helathy. But, sinceI don't go out that much for dinner...like twice a month or so, I normally get something a little unhealthier. not necesarrily a big burger, but a big steak haha, which is just as bad. I don't do fast food anymore, unless it is 5 Guys. and I don'[t go to fast food but like, once a quarter, if that.
6I ate two burgers in the last ten years. I really don't like em.
7If I want healthy, I just don't get fast food. I think of fast food as my once a month unhealthy splurge, so why not get whatever I want.
8I like healthier fare. However, while I abhor fast food, I like a good burger once in a while. Especially now that it's summer and everybody's got their grills out and ready to barbecue!
9I enjoy a good burger on occasion, but I avoid the fries and the cheese and the other crap when I splurge. If I'm grabbing carry-out dinner just for myself, I'll stop at Subway and get a healthy sandwich or salad.
10burgers gross me out. i would freak out if i put something like that in my body.
11i'm proud to say that i have not had a fast food burger in about a year and a half!
12It depends. If I'm going out to eat as a treat, then I do treat myself and order whatever I want. If I'm just out to at though and its not a special treat then I eat something I would normally eat aka healthier fare.
13i don't eat red meat and when i have "fast food" it's usually a turkey sandwich from subway. yum!
14I want something healthy!!!
15i never eat fast food, but a good pub burger rocks! I always say to myself i'll just have a salad, but i can't resist once i'm there and everyone else is getting them!
16Fast Food "healthy fare" can actually be pretty deceptive. So in the event that I do end up at a fast food restaraunt (rare) I usually order the "junior" version of the burger, without any cheese or mayo (cuts calories and I'm just not a fan anyway!).
What gets me is the fries. I have such a weakness for a nice hot crispy on the outside, soft on the inside french fry....
17I usually eat healthier options when I eat out, but every now and then I will have a burger. I think its OK...everything in moderation! One Friday night after a long stressful week a burger and beer wont kill me
18I picked healthy fare. I admit I had a burger for lunch today, but it was a veggie burger at an organic cafe, so at least that's better than grabbing a Big Mac at McDonald's. But really, I can't even remember the last time I went to a fast food place for a meal.
19I make sure not to go to places that will tempt me.
20It depends on my mood. If it's a hot day, then I'll probably want something light.
I rarely eat out, so I don't really care if it is healthy or not. One meal isn't going to irrepairably ruin a consistently healthy diet.
However if I ate out often, then I would want something healthy.
As for the article, it's possible that the burgers are cheaper than the healthier entree. That and in some places getting the burger may be faster or the healthy eaters pack a lunch.
21I wonder what area of the country this survey was done or if it was all over? I know that in Urban areas, people are prolly mor elikely to go healthier. because of certain socio-economic factors...
22I just finished reading "Fast Food Nation". I haven't eaten fast food in over 2 years and after reading that, I'm never eating it again!! Yuck!!
23I do a lot of healthy food, Love a good salad and a steak. But i do crave a good burger everyonce in a while and when i do i get it!But not from Hardee's, usually Sonic or Burger King.
24I'm pretty healthy at restaurants, and I practice good portion control. However if I go to McDonald's or someplace like that I'm not going for the salads! If I go to a junk food place Im going to treat myself . . .
25I haven't eaten a fast food burger since I was 12 (when I decided to go vegetarian), but I still don't always order the healthiest things
26Can't stand fast food burgers. Or fast food. I won't even eat McDonalds' salads.
27If I eat out in a restaurant, I'll go for a nice steak, or a really good salad. Nothing wrong with a good quality burger out - it can be perfectly healthy.
Im vegetarian so it doesnt even really apply to me but i hope other ppl veg out 2!
28I voted "Burger" but it's not like it's all the time-- some days I eat healthy, some days I don't want to. So I think the question is too simplistic for me.
29I don't really like burgers all that much unless they're homemade or from In 'N Out. I usually choose salads or grilled chicken sandwiches at fast food places. Sadly I do have a weakness for fries so I have to try my hardest not to get those when I have fast food; usually I just try and avoid eating at those places in the first place.
30Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I like burgers when my husband cooks them, because then I know exactly what goes into them (and he never buys less than the 93% lean beef). The only fast food burger I really like is In-N-Out, but since I moved to the east coast there haven't been any of those.
At fast-food restaurants I usually prefer salads or chicken sandwiches.
31hey smart bolde..where on the east coast? if near DC try 5 Guys. I guarantee you will be pleased!
