There are plenty of products marketed toward women, and until now toilets have been on pretty gender-neutral ground. Artist Haikun Deng is aiming to carve a niche toilet market with his Light Girl toilet design. The toilet seat doubles as a scale that weighs you before and after you've done your business.
Deng thinks women will be drawn to his creation because they tend to be concerned about weight and said, "As people tend to be lighter after using the toilet, it probably gives the most welcomed results to girls." There's truth in his comment that people weigh slightly less after toilet-time, but I'm not sure that women will embrace the product like he's hoping they will. What do you think of the Light Girl — cool or not cool?

put this in the ED hall of fame
OMG! Eating disorder waiting to happen!
Lame
That's horrid! Did no one made a survey to see what people thought? I'm certain most people would be disgusted by it, not mentioning scared into eating nothing at all.
Yeah, no kidding, way to set someone up for a big-time ED. Why not just poop in a bag and weigh it? People have sick, sick minds.
wow.....so many things wrong here
This toilet reminds me of an episode of CSI...the dead girl weighed everything that went in and came out...yuck. What a way to perpetuate eating disorders.
No and I have to agree. It's just another way to encourage females to obsess about every little pound.
i guess I'm alone here but I think this is funny. I've weighed myself before and after and me and my boyfriend joke about it. I guess we're into that kind of "toilet" humor.
That's... weird.
This guy is smoking some funky crack...
I think this would definitely put some girls over the edge! Talk about eating disorders!
It's cool in theory. But that's it. It should just stay as a theory!
I wish there was a choice for "creepy".
No thank you. This is a disaster waiting to happen!
im not sure marketing this towards women is the best plan, i know for a fact my husband and his friends would all love to have these and then say i crapped this much last night and thing like that. definitely more of a novelty thing for men who love potty humor.
double lame!
NOT!!!! as if society doesn't put enough pressure on females to be thin already.
ridiculous.
mudnessa--Ha, my husband and his buddies would probably do the same thing! I could just picture them drinking too much and then seeing who could take the biggest crap. I could picture them making bets on it, even. Seriously, this is NOT a good idea. What's next, a device to put on your toilet to measure how much vomit you expel?
Completely unnecessary...IMO.
Just as an aside, couldn't you do this yourself by stepping on the scale before and after?
This guy tried to think of the most offensive, stereotypical, idiotic product he could market towards women. Yes, dude, we're sooo obsessed with being nice and skinny that we obsess over it EVERY moment of our lives, even when going to the bathroom. That is, if we have deadly eating disorders, which this product would surely trigger. I suppose it's possible that this is a joke, but it makes me so incredibly angry!!! Ack!!!
I like Spectra's comment: "why not just poop in a bag and weigh it."
the only time I had the desire to weigh myself multiple times a day was when I was really deep into an eating disorder. as if there aren't enough things in the world encouraging disordered eating. Wow
I actually read about something like that recently, but it was a toilet seat instead of a whole toilet. I figured that they'd market it to men, though, because I feel like men would be much more interested in knowing how much their dump weighs. I had men who lived downstairs from me once who would have competitions to see who could fill an entire Gatorade bottle with pee.
Men can be stupid like that.
eeeew
the id of it is just gross
what a 'nice' reminder you'd get of your weight each time you go.. :S
WTF
totally silly!
Um, wtf?
hahahaha *laughs at comment #2*
agree agree
cool idea.. whoever's that is.. but not cool enough to be given innovation award haha
That is weird!!!!!
Yea definitely. They'll get off the toilet and realize they're still too heavy and need to throw up some more.
They should market it towards guys...They brag about stuff like that.
